  1. Has anyone compared the two side by side in a listening test?  I am very curious to discover listening / review opinions of the two models.

I am also wondering if Klipsch has considered continuing production a Heresy version that is aligned with the Heresy III (no port, smaller box) for those that might desire the "Classic" design. In essence, they could call it the Heresy Classic.

In full disclosure, I own a pair Heresy III's and love them. I have other (non Heritage) Klipsch speakers in various rooms in the house as well. I was considering purchasing an (additional) pair of Heresy's when the Heresy IV emerged;  so, I am curious what people think in comparative terms.

  2. I am bringing up this old, and somewhat recently rebooted thread, so that the new Heresy IV can be included. I am curious how those listening to the new Heresy IV compare and contrast it with prior versions. Especially, now that the Heresy IV has a port and a taller box dimension, as this marks a major transition away from the first versions physical anatomy. I have H III and I really enjoy them but am considering getting the IV, while keeping my H III for alternate use.

  3. I was told there were no repair parts but I could buy a new set.

I would bet that Klipsch does have the parts but they only go to into authorised repairs and are not sold to individuals. Possibly a Klipsch dealer can get the part? Perhaps a clarifying conversation with someone "higher up" at Klipsch? My post is speculative......

Added Edit....just read Chad's post after posting paragraph above.

  4. Amy mentioned awhile back that Klipsch would have some pretty exciting news and for us to be patient. I'm thinking this is what she was referring to because I don't see the current "Reference" speakers (even the new subwoofers) as being super exciting news.

Who is Amy? I see her mentioned on the forum alot. Forgive me as I am new here.

    Sorry for double post.

  5. I wanted to see if there is a big difference in using RCA Cables that are priced under $150.00 or not and what brands would be recommended. Will there be a big difference in sound quality in the $0-$150.00 range, and can you find a quality cable in the same range?

To clarify my opinion. I think some people can discern "different sonic characteristics" between certain cables. If you are one of those people, only you can decide which cable sounds best to you. When there are so many opinions it may be better to consider trusting your own ears....to get the best solution for you.

I chose Heresy III because I liked the sound that they produce but also for space and weight concerns (easier to physically move them).  Thanks for the info. I have been listening to Klipsch speakers since the late 1980's but my first new pair were the KG 2.2 circa 1993. The first pair that I ever heard was La Scala. I was hooked after that experience.

    buckaroo,

Your "Physics" argument is the exact same one I used on the wife when I bought my first pair of Klipschorns and later moved up to my Klipsch TSCMs.... Bigger and Heavier = harder to steal!  :D

    I like it :P

  7. buckaroo,

I was spoiled, My first pair of Klipsch that I ever heard was Klipschorns in the late 70's. First pair a budy owned were LaScalas. First pair I bought was going to be LaScalas, but my dealer did not want to order me any, so I ended up buying Quartets. It has been a long trip traveled since then!

Where do you live?? Is the gathering in Hope something you would be interested in?

    Roger

I am in the midwest. About a days drive from Hope. When is this event?

  8. I just started using Blue Jeans RCA stereo pair. I bought mine on Amazon. Very robust cable. Heavier weight than I anticipated. I can't say that I am able to appreciate a huge difference in sound quality from my prior cables (Hosa) but these will last forever. If anything, I would say they are pretty neutral sounding. Transparent sonically.

Would like to post images. Trying to discover how to do that on this forum. Looks like they need to be posted somewhere online then insert the URL after clicking the photo button? So you can't insert them directly into a post?

Thanks! That seemed to do it. You will see above some lo fi phone pix. Buckaroo name comes from love of Buck Owens. I am unaware of Frazier speakers....to answer the previous poster.

Marantz 2238 I purchased new in the 1970's. Works perfect. Stays covered when not in use. It lives in my basement right now and is kept company by a pair of Klipsch KG 2.2 I purchased new circa 1993. Both are all original except for replacement lamps in the Marantz. Even the original Monster "made in USA" speaker cables.

  12. I just purchased a Marantz PM 8005. I primarily use Klipsch Heresy III speakers but also have Klipsch KG 2.2. I think that you are correct that the peceived lack of bass that you encountered has more to do with the speakers than the amp. Before swapping out cables you might consider an alternative speaker placement. Maybe for a start, put them on the floor and tilt them back (raise the front about 30 degrees) to see if that helps. I am new to this forum but a long time HiFi fan. I am sure others will offer opinions soon.

    Merry Christmas.
