  1. I didn't know you were a mind reader. It is evident from his statement, why don't you go read what he said instead of defending his offensive statements. Nice job for a mod.
  2. So what? That is still NOT a reason to talk to people in the manner that he does. His choice of employment doesn't make it right to come on the forum and abuse other members. Maybe my opinion means "Nothing" to him. I don't care but he's a JERK. Just because he has a different opinion than other members does not make him right. He's just mad because someone else makes more money than he does and he thinks his job and position in life is better than others. Cry baby
  3. Was it? How do you know? What does that have to do with me? He didn't say that. I didn't know you were a mind reader.
  4. I would like to apologize to guest of this forum just passing by and reading this thread. We didn't know that a forum member was so consumed with "Feces". "Don't think that those who are responsible for taking care of your life and cleaning your feces up are worth more than manual labor? So because they choose to work a dirty, hard job, they should be paid more than someone who is responsible for your life and has to clean up your Feces ?? Roger" I also don't know who is responsible for your life except you but the above member seems to think it is someone else. On the Lighter side, the elephant picture did make me LOL.
  5. Oh, I'm sorry! and your opinion means.... NOTHING! So because they choose to work a dirty, hard job, they should be paid more than someone who is responsible for your life and has to clean up your Feces ?? You are endowed with extreme intellect! Roger I think you could use a raise. Don't try to cheer me up now with your witty comments.
  6. What a crappy attitude by some forum members towards members of society who work manual labor for a living. Maybe you would just prefer they sit on their "uneducated" rumps and take government money. You have no idea about the education of many people who work manual labor, just a stereotype in your own mind. There are many people who have the education your touting that cannot find employment, so instead of living in mom's and dad's basement, they choose to work. Get off your high horse.
  7. I use eq's in my system and it sounds fine. Everyone hears differently and knows what sounds good to them. As far as WAF factor. My wife has to accept what I bring into the house for entertainment because I'm the boss when it comes to the electronics we use. If she needs to decorate around them, she gets to do that. She decorates and I supply the entertainment, mostly fully clothed.
  8. Come on, we can do better than that. Bill OK then, try the Radio Shack forum. How's that? I thought you were not going to pollute my thread anymore. You just can't stay away from trouble.
  9. The best way to go about it, is to open up the speakers and see what you have for crossovers. Like mentioned, they will more than likely by Mylar capacitors on the HF, with electrolytics for LF shunt, and one or two inductors. Everything will probably be attached to a PCB, and mounted to the terminal cup. Then you can determine if you want to upgrade to metal polypropylene caps,(or whatever flavor of cap you want) and how much room you have on the PCB to do such mods. You could also change over to higher quality resistors, as likely the stock ones will be sand cast types. You can also see if the inside of the cabinets could benefit from stiffening or some sort of dampening. There isn't anything wrong with tweaking on cheap speakers, surprising results can be achieved. If you know how to layout/solder, you could upgrade the parts for rather cheap. Don't let other posters opinions get you down. Thanks for the response.
  10. I apologize to you Mr. Smith. I'm not trying to argue with anyone.
  11. All I did was ask a question. A legit question. I'm not the one who talked down to another forum member. I'll reconsider this forum.
  12. Maybe I should ask this way..... I want some info about my crossovers. I know I'm just a stupid newbee and need superior members with superior equipment to tell me where I went wrong. Try not to "flame me" for asking legit questions because I'm just so stupid. When you insult me and my choices I'll keep my mouth shut and yeild to you guys with a Bigger Budget than me. Please for give me for being a Lower line owner. Damn Klipsch for luring me in with that Cheap Synergy Line. I'll just crawl back in my hole now and wait for members to tell me how bad my choice of Klipsch Synergy was. I like being Black and Blue, Hit me with your Best Shot. Sincerely, John
  13. Take this any way you want, but you are walking a fine line as a "new" member of this forum between being ignored in the future, or being flamed immediately, and then being ignored. I would recommend you put your attitude on the shelf and listen to the advice of those that have been around for a good long time...Try a little "honey" for a while, and then see what happens.... Why do I have to "try a little honey" after asking a legit question? I wanted real tech info if anyone had it and didn't think I had to kiss anyone's rump to get it and without being insulted. Maybe you think Newbee's have to cowtow to "seasoned members". I've been around a long time too. You're the one here with the attitude problem but thanks for your elitist imput. Maybe Newbee's here should be warned that legit questions will be answered by snobs who threaten them with "being ignored".
  14. Well, Mr. Smith, Thanks for your opinion. If I'm not mistaken, the tweeter used in the Synergy line is the same tweeter that is used in another line, if I read all the comments and literature correctly. The major difference being in between the Synergy line and the Reference line is the copper spun Woof/Mid units and each use the aluminum LTS Tweeter. I happen to think the "white" IMG Woof/Mid units work just fine. Maybe some of you need to give them another listen. The Synergy might be a "budget speaker" although I don't consider a 400 dollar budget speaker to sound like a 100 dollar "budget speaker". So yes, even your remarks are on the cutting edge of condesending because your basically telling me I have a piece of junk. Prove to me that the tweeters in my Synergy are different than the tweeters in the Reference Series and I'll retract my statements. What say you Mr. Smith?
  15. Ya know, I don't really need remarks like that. Condesending. I just wanted to know without you telling me I need better speakers. I'm very happy with mine and it is ME I have to please not my neighbors. Practice being a nicer person.
  16. I was in communication with Bob Crites today concerning the crossovers in my Synergy F-20's He told me that since they are a current model he doesn't have access to schematics for these speakers. He also said that Klipsch typically uses Mylar Caps for the top end with eletrolytics for the low end. Can anyone verify this for me?
  17. All models AFAIK, LOL. My Synergy F20' have Aluminum Compression Drivers mated to a Tractrix Horn. Are they real compression drivers?
  18. I believe the frequencies you want to hear for "more air" fall below the 20Khz range. Probably falling between 5 to 17 Khz because you probably can't hear more than that. It will depend on how the super tweeter reproduces those frequencies and at the ampitude they have. The older Realistic Super Tweeter had a great top end and it was crossed by cap at about 5 Khz.
  19. Are all tweeter drivers in Klipsch Speakers compression drivers?
  20. I viewed the rollout online of the CES Show and Klipsch. Personally, I thought it was kind of a sleeper.
  21. I had this same warning on my P.D.Q. Bach CD. "The 1712 Overture and Other Musical Assaults".
  22. I bought mine here and it has been trouble free. http://www.yamahashoponline.com/ good prices
