Congrats on the new RF82 II's. That's one heckuva bargain. Gotta be one of the best values in speakers right now.
Tell me, do you know how the RF-82 II came to be resurrected in the Klipsch line? Did they discover some NOS in a warehouse somewhere?
Regardless of the how and why, enjoy!
Crutchfield had some for a little while, don't know how they got them.
I don't think they have these But I saw a newer model at a good price.
I am very pleased with the price I got.

I've seen many pics of
Damaged Copper Cones. WHY?
I'm guessing someone "Did Something"
It can't be the way these cones are made can it?

You should be able to remove any oil filter by hand.
You snug it up, and tighten it up 1/3 turn.
Many of the housings are so thin you can damage
them with too much force.
1/3 turn and it will stay on.

I find it's best to install the
Oil Filter with a Impact Gun.
No Oil Leaks Here.

@rebuy, May I ask which model Denon? I have 3 ... from different generations and knock on wood never had a problem. There’s a person in southern Ontario on Canada Audio Mart who has had multiple avr torched by storms.. or other phenomenon. Multiple CAM members suggested he have an electrician check his wiring. And, please let the interested Denon owners know if it gets fixed with a magic reset or other solution. Thanks.
It'a X1200W

I had a Firmware update about 2 weeks ago.
There are not many from Denon.
I hard wired my computer to the H-K so
I can listen to music.
My H-K isn't near as fancy as the Denon
but it sounds so much better.
It doesn't have the fakey Boom sound
and the transients are so much cleaner.
I'll get a Marantz later to replace the Denon
with preouts because I want some tubes down the road.

Surprisingly (not in one job),but I have gone through over a thousand here and there. Never hurts to have an extra roll or two.

Thanks Guys, I'll call and check this stuff out.
I'd hate to throw it away.
-
I unplugged it several times and did
several "Factory Reset" Moves according
to the owners manual.
I've been trying.
Gonna let it rest for a little while
and try it again.

A Power outage during a Storm took out my Denon.
It turns on but doesn't respond to remote commands
and won't change "Modes".
I had to go to storage and get my 8 Yr. Old Harman Kardon.
No Streaming Music until I get something new.
Of course I could buy a Bluetooth Streamer from Parts Express.
H-K Amps sound Good.
It pays to have something in Reserve.
I won't miss Perry Mason Tonight !

Do you Really need 400 Feet of Speaker Wire? 😁😁😁😁

It depends on how big your room is and How loud you'll be playing music
and or movies. The Sub will take a lot of STRESS off the others speakers
by playing the Lowest Frequencies.
For Quality, The RP-600M will give you better sound within it's limits
due to the reasons I stated above.
I have lower quality Klipsch with IMG Woofers and they sound good.
I bought a pair of RF Klipsch with Ceremetalic Cones and they do sound better.
I personally do not like the sound of the Aluminum Tweeter.
The upgraded tweeters in the RP Line are Mo Better.
So I personally think, That the Quality of of sound from the
upper lines of Klipsch is better.
-
Your Right, The R-620 is Bigger. If Floor Standing Speakers are
what you're wanting the the R-620 should be Your Choice.
They Will have more Bass.
Double check the Tweeters, They are Different.
-
The RP uses Different Bass Drivers, different Crossovers, Different Tweeters
Better Cabinets. All Around a Better Speaker.

OK, My "setup" button is right beside the Volume buttons.
when I press it goes to "Audio" on the TV Menu
Then Hit "Enter" and the "Dialogue Level" Appears
Hit enter again and you'll see the level for the Center Channel.
A 1911 has Plenty of power to drive the Speakers you want to buy.
In Most cases you probably Will Not use over 5 to 10 Watts
to drive those speakers because they will be too Loud.
Your AVR is OK
Hope this Helps

I use Towers all the way around.
A Stand takes as much space as a tower.
I have cats, A Tower is Harder to knock over.
As for Moving Towers, Use Furniture Sliders under each Foot,
makes moving Speakers Easy.
Also Towers all the way around sound great for loud music
if your having a party.

I did have a Large Pair of Polks, S60 Signature that was Boomy
and contained 3--6&1/2 inch drivers.
The top driver was the transition drivers to the Tweeter
but Polk left the cabinet completely open to the top.
I filled the cabinet just behind the top driver (midrange)
with Poly and it Stopped the Boominess and really
cleared up the Mids.
I never could get those Speakers to sound right
so I sold them and got new Klipsch.
They sound Sooo Much Better.
-
Inspecting my New to me speakers,
when I looked in the ports, they contained
Zero Foam or anything in the bottom of the cabinets.
But they sound really good, so I wouldn't
do anything to mine to mess up the sound.
If it ain't broke, can you fix it?
-
When setting the Dialogue Level. on the remote
on a Denon when you press the "setup" button,
and "Audio" is showing, press that and then a
"Dialogue Level" Setting is available.
It is separate from the normal speaker levels.
You can use this to Boost the Center even more
and make your center as Loud & Clear as you need it.
- 1
-
You can Buy all the different center speakers you want
but if you do not have your speakers levels set correctly
you will still have a dialogue problem.
Yes run the calibration and let the AVR set the levels
then you will probably Tweak the center level from there.
Get a Movie that you like with Action and Talking at the same time.
Turn the sound to the point that you normally listen with.
If the dialogue is Hard to Hear, Turn up The Center Channel
until the dialogue becomes dominate and understandable.
Forget the numbers on the AVR, just get the sound right.

So the main reason the RP-250s appealed to me is due to the dual direction of the speakers. There doesnt seem to be anything offered like that in the reference lineup. How much of a difference is it from something like the R-14s and the RP-250s?
I didn't know Klipsch didn't offer a surround dual driver speaker.
You will have to move to a different line to get that/

Would it really make a difference which set of posts one connect to? I mean as long as the jumpers were capable of handling all power requirements? I my case I connect to the LF terminals with the mindset that there is a greater power demand than the MF & HF drivers. But in actual reality I can not hear any difference which post set I use.
IDK if it makes a difference but Deang, who did my crossovers,
recommended this to me so I do it that way.

Does bi amping any Klipsch speakers make them sound better?Meaning,in terms of sound staging, bass response, etc.Given the high sensitivity of these speakers, would this be amplifier overkill?
I Do Not Bi amp my Speakers.
You're right, they're very efficient so when I
Single Wire mine, I plug my wire into the "Top Post",
Tweeter direct, and send Lower signal through the jumpers.
-
Just my personal opinion.
You already have the R series.
For surrounds & Atmos it makes more sense
to stay in the same line.
The RP is More expensive and to pay those
prices for Atmos is a waste of money.
They are just ambient speakers, I'd just stay within the line you own.
New guy just bought himself some RP8000F’s help!

I run 5 Klipsch Towers on a Harman Kardon
and in 5 Channel Mode it's 50 WPC.
The HK has a fair amount of current.
I'll only need more power when we move and get
a Larger Room.
Right now, I have plenty of power.
When I get a new AVR it will be a Marantz
with preouts so I can add an amp if I want and I want.
I will probably buy one at Accessories4less.
They have refurbs and I've had good units from there.
