  1. Wow, 4 klipschorns that sounds insane! I know i'll love it, the only reason I haven't done this already is because at first I was a little worried about the height of the tv because it'll be sitting on top top of the la scala but the more I think about it, it really doesn't matter plus I have seen plenty of people on this forum use that setup with no issues.
  2. I am in the West Hartford CT area and have a mint condition RC-64ii up for sale. This thing is 100% flawless and I spent 1000 on it not too long ago and still have invoice for those interested. Pictures are a couple messages down. I am thinking 600 would be a good price considering the age and shape of this speaker . Comes with grill and original manual still factory sealed. I do not have the box though and am really not looking to ship. I would hate to risk damaging this thing and the price to ship it wouldn't be cheap. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Actual purchase date was April 10th so it's literally 3 months old.
  3. Gorgeous system! Where did you get that entertainment center stand? I LOVE IT!
  4. Everyone I've talked to has said the grills are made of a material that wont affect sound quality. I've never heard any difference either and I've tried both ways.
  5. Just realized you had La Scalas!!! Ok you have all the high and mid performance of the Khorn along with its sensitivity. What you lack is it's bass performance - buy yourself a couple of subwoofers, tune those in, and you will have Khorn perfomance or better in your room. This is what I did!
  6. Selling a Velodyne CT 150 subwoofer it is in I would say 7/10 condition cosmetically. It has one ding on the side due to being moved around over the years and a couple scratches on the bottom because when I first bought it, I didn't install it's rubber feet and it got pushed around a little but since then I have installed rubber feet. Other than that it is pretty much mint, works perfectly and comes with grill which is mint. I really don't want to ship because due to the size and weight it would cost easily around $100. Location is West Hartford CT and I'm asking 225.
  7. 100 watts continuous to LaScalas? Are you deaf? Do you wanna be? Lol Ya see thats why I don't even know if getting an external amp would be necessary because my AVR already pushes 100 per channel rms and thats what the La Scala's say is the recommended wattage.
  8. If you go separates(preamp/processor + amp) you have to amp all channels if you want to use them. Unless you mean an AVR and an outboard amp? Bill Ya, I was thinking AVR and outboard amp.
  9. Marantz has always paired well with Klipsch. You'd have to do your due diligence (read reviews, consumer comments, etc.) but I can vouch for the Marantz AVR 7005 and 7055 separates in our Klipsch KLF HT system. (KLF-30's, 10's and C-7).They replaced a Denon AVR which did just an 'ok' job but was tinny on the high end and less than adequate otherwise. Marantz made a huge positive difference. I suspect that the Marantz AVR's do a good job too. Probably worth checking it out. Take a look at separates too ...I certainly don't regret it. Best of luck. Marantz is real nice in terms of features, looks, and music processing, but Denon receivers have better amps. The second level technicians at D&M will tell you that the higher end Denon receivers do pretty much the same thing as the Marantz separates. Take a flagship Denon receiver and flagship Marantz receiver, Denon will win pretty easily. Gotta get into the separates to get the real good stuff. If I was to go into separates, do you think it's worth externally amping up all the speakers or just the mains?
  10. Damn! I'm in CT but just purchased a pair! Otherwise I'd be all over that! Gorgeous speakers! Good luck with the sale!
  11. Ya, I think I am just gonna order a second Klipsch not only for the reasons you stated but not sure if anyone here is familiar with the Velodyne but compared to the Klipsch its pretty plain looking and would throw off the look of the whole setup. The Klipsch also goes down to 18hz where the Velodyne drops off at 25hz.
  12. Wow, I'm certainly glad I inquired! I guess it'll be fine!
  13. I recently decided to go ahead and purchase the Klipsch R-115SW to replace my Velodyne CT-150 but while checking eBay and the amount these subs are going for which is like 150-200 at best I stopped and said why don't I just keep it and run both! Has anyone here ran 2 different sub models? What do you guys think, run both or sell the Velodyne? Also, while I am here if anyone has the R-115SW and wants to tell me how they like it I certainly wouldn't object I'm pretty sure Youthman said he had like 2 Velodyne subs and switched to 1 Klipsch that outperformed both of them. That isn't the first time I've heard a story like that, as well as my own listening experience is why I decided to make the switch. That paired with the fact that the R-115SW just looks gorgeous!
  14. Just one thing to keep in mind is you also need a TV that has HDCP 2.2 or the player (Assuming your talking about the Samsung UBD-K8500 since that's the only one out) will not work with it. My friend had to learn that the hard way.
  15. Ya the Sherbourn is a very nice unit but it only supports up to 1080 which is a dealbreaker at this point for me since I am just got a new 4k tv and planning on getting the 4k blu ray player in the near future. I think I would most likely go with the SC-95 the question is, given that I have the VSX-90 is it even worth it, would I even hear a difference in sound quality? The main thing I noticed is that the SC-95 has a class D amp which it doesn't look like mine does. Does that make a big difference?
  16. Ya, I agree the 64 seems to keep up with my La Scala's pretty well. The looks alone of that center make it a keeper!
  17. Ya, I have to say the more I hear I think if I do upgrade i'll go with the SC-95 especially like I said the way now the price has dropped so drastically.
  18. Do you mean going with an external amp? Ya, that's partially the reason why I was thinking of upgrading because the receiver I currently have does not have any pre out's (except for sub). I believe with Pioneer they don't introduce that until you get to the SC-95 which is why I was looking at that one.
  19. Ya, I was actually looking at the SC-95 as well. When I was originally shopping for a receiver it was too expensive but now that they are releasing there 2016 models the price has dropped significantly. I just don't know if it would be worth it considering I already have the VSX-90. I saw a similar thread on AVSforum where someone said they both have the same amp so there would be no difference in sound quality. Does anyone know if that is true or not?
  20. Ya, I've had yamaha before and have always been happy with them. I just had them for so long I wanted to try something new.
