  1. I recently purchased a RP450C for my home theater but as some said when I made a thread about it, it really does not match timbre with my mains so I am sadly gonna get rid of it and try something else. This center is 100% minit I literally just unboxed it, tested it on a couple movies and some music then made my decision. Cosmetically still flawless. I still have the box and manual is still in the plastic bag. Speaker has probably seen less than 5 hours use. Here is the craigslist add. http://hartford.craigslist.org/ele/5508330826.html Any questions please feel free to ask and if anyone is interested and is local you are more than welcome to audition before you buy.
  2. Haha I just stumbled upon this thread and spent the last 10 minutes looking for the plaque on the Klipsch website only to double check and see that this thread was made over 10 years ago. Safe to say the plaque is no longer available?
  3. I would definitely agree with the RC-64ii I recently got the RP-450C and it's nice but I do wish I held out and got the RC-64. The RP-450C does not seem to be quite as high in sound quality as my mains but it's also only been about 2 days so it could be that it still needs to break in.
  4. Thank you for that, I was looking but couldn't find the specs on those. I actually had never seen them myself. Looking at the specs it looks like the JBL's are slightly better which is what i kinda figured but I know just because the specs are higher doesn't necessarily mean it will sound better.
  5. As some of you may know I am currently in the process of redoing my home theater. I am trying to go all vintage Klipsch. I recently ran into someone that saw that I I have a pair of JBL S310's for sale and asked if I would be interested in a trade for a pair of Klipsch KG3's he says they are in perfect working order, only thing is he sanded them down and refinished them which I don't have a problem with. As long as all drivers are original or OEM and in working order. My question is do you guys think this is a fair straight up trade? JBL's are in perfect working order but have some cosmetic flaws. One dust cap is partially pushed in but does not affect sound quality. Wood finish is also mint. For anyone unfamiliar with the speakers here is a link http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5swJ0OjxxDi/p_109S310/JBL-S310.html They are very good speakers and I was always extremely happy with them. Only reason I switched is because well I had an opportunity to get some vintage klipsch and have always loved the Klipsch sound but these speakers are by no means any slouch.
  6. Chorus I's Promedia 2.1 Those are all I've heard by Klipsch thus far but I'm hoping to have much more Klipsch in my setup soon enough!
  7. So I wouldn't be able to just him an amp to that audio out in the picture there next to the sub out? You would need to make sure it was variable out vs. pass-thu, the voltage (if a variable pre-out) high enough and of proper quality. Yamaha typically uses "pre-out" for their terminology if they wanted you to use the ports for a pre-amp for external amplification. My thought would be the front-end in the Yamaha wouldn't be up to the quality. If you really need hdmi switching, depending on your budget, a SC Pioneer Elite (lower model) would drive the Chorus's wonderfully. Is there any way that I would be able to test to see if it was variable out? By that I am assuming you mean that out in question would be controlled by the volume or just be a fixed pass through with no control which would make it useless for an amp hookup. Am I correct? Also, how do you think this receiver would do? http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/VSX-45 Not much of an upgrade from mine in terms of wattage so I suppose if I wanted to do something I would be better off saving up and going for the SC line like you said, I saw those push at least 130@8 ohms while this one is 85.

  10. Wow, that tfm-75 is an absolute monster!! I hadn't been to thecarversite but I just checked it out, I'll definitely become a member of that forum as well. It's amazing how at one point I thought my little Yamaha 90 watts per channel was powerful,i can't wait to hear real power! One thing I was actually wondering, I've seen on this forum a lot of people actually using car subs and amps and stuff like that for home audio. I have a jl audio 300/2 slash 2 channel amp. Do you think it would be a good idea to try and rig that for home use, or would I be much better off just trying to find a home amp? Much better with a real home amp unless of course you have enough 12volt juice to actually push the car amp adequately. Not as easy to do as most think. Also the sound quality will likely be quite a bit different between a good 2 channel home amp and the auto amp.Second thing is you said your Yamaha didn't have enough power because the woofers barely move. Unless you are doing very deep bass (and a Chorus as any other ported speaker) will typically unload when run under the tuning frequency of the speaker. Getting lower into the frequency range, say into the tuning area, the woofers should almost appear to stop moving and the output be from the ports. Does your version of the Yamaha have actual pre-outs or the av out? It may not be putting out the appropriate voltage to be able to run an amplifier if they are variable outputs. I would suggest find a good used integrated or save your money until you can do the right job since you want video switching with a better receiver. A processor to do 4K will be a little heavy on the wallet.. It might actually just be A/V outs, truthfully I didn't really think there was a difference. I'll post a link to its specs here. http://m.usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers/rx-v/rx-v377.html So, if I was to get an amp and hook it to my receivers audio out it wouldn't work?

  12. Ya I have to say I'm really liking that tfm-45 I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for that one. I'll tell ya another thing,i can tell I'm not even seeing a glimpse of what those choruses can do because with the amp I'm pushing out with now I can pretty much put it on full blast and the woofer barely moves.
  13. Wow very nice! Thanks for the suggestions. The only reason I would rather keep the Yamaha I am running and get a separate amp is because I have my computer going though it as well as my ps4 and all that running at 4k through the pass through and even though I'm not going to be running it mainly for theater I still want all that stuff to be hooked up though HDMI which I would lose if I switched to one of those integrated amps. I'm definitely interested in the acurus. Also I was wondering your opinion on the carver M500t.
  14. I recently made a thread about acquiring some new Klipsch Chorus speakers and was asking what center to get and some of the forum members said I would be better off deciding if i want to make this system a 5.1 theater system or a 2 channel music system and after some serious consideration I decided I want to go the 2 channel just for music route because honestly that's pretty much what drove me to buy them because I know and love the rich vocals you get with Klipsch speakers. I also saw people said if I really want to hear what these things are made of I should give them some more power. Now just to make sure I am on the right track here I was looking into one amp that one of the members mentioned, the acurus A200 now looking at this thing, it looks like I would hook this up to my current receiver through the preamp out. Am I correct here? This does look like a gorgeous amp but it is on the pricey side. Even on eBay the cheapest I can find it is around 500 which is slightly out of my price range. I am looking for the highest quality bang for my buck 2 channel amp but at this point in time I can't really afford over I would say 400. I'm obviously not opposed to buying used at all either. I would love suggestions. I would be hooking this to a Yamaha RX-V377. I am brand new to the whole amp world If you guys could throw me some good makes and models of perhaps some of the equipment you are using I could try to find something on eBay or in the garage sale section. All input is much appreciated, thanks!
  15. So, what do you think like 200 or best offer?
  16. Given the shape these are in, do you guys think my asking price is fair? I actually just checked and they were purchased in 2001 for 275 each brand new. I do still have original speaker grills and as I said they still sound mint.
  17. I am selling a pair of JBL studio Series Floorstanding speakers. They are in good condition. One is mint, one has a dented dust cap and the back legs are detached but still fully usable and the dust cap dent does NOT negatively affect the sound. Truth of the matter is the speaker got accidentally knocked over and that was the result. As I said though other than that both are mint and sound as good as they day they were purchased. I am original owner, paid over 300 a piece for these around 9 years ago. No signs of driver deterioration or anything like that. I will post the craigslist add for all information. http://hartford.craigslist.org/ele/5452556492.html asking 250 or best offer.
  18. First off welcome to the Klipsch community! I am a new member as well and just recently purchased my first pair of Klipsch speakers. I had tried many in the past and after seeing them outperform speakers 2-3 and even 4x there size I took the leap to go full Klipsch! Sounds like you have a pretty big theater to play with. I am still no Klipsch expert and don't know all their speakers too well. All I can say is once you hear that Klipsch sound it's hard to go back to any other speaker! Since I am still fairly new to Klipsch and as I said don't know their line well enough to recommend what would fit your needs best ill let some of the other experts take over but I just wanted to say welcome!
  19. Well I need some advice from the wonderful audio experts here. Today I got the bright idea to change my theater room around in order to try and make floorstanding rears fit. All went ok but after moving I listened and the sound from the mains (chorus) is now much worse, paper thin pretty much all highs. I was thinking and realized I think I know the cause but wanted to check in and ask before I take the couple hours to switch it all back. The wall the mains were against in the beginning was a solid wall with concrete behind it and now in their new spot its a hollow wall thats probably 4 inches thin made of sheetrock. Another thing that's happening is a lot of vibration in the wall. I'm pretty sure this is an obvious question but the reason they sound like crap now is because the wall is hollow and the sound is going right through it, right?
  20. I just wanna make a quick update when I said I didn't really see that these speakers didn't have much bass I had only listened to MP3's and some flac files from my computer. I wanted to wait until I got a center to put in a bluray but tonight I decided what the hell just try it... and WOOOOW they are MONSTERS! When they say it really depends if you feed these things a quality signal they aren't lying! I had to check several times to make sure I didn't accidentally turn my sub on! Now I see what everyone means when they say bass you can feel in your bones! When I bought these things I told the guy I had a sub, he looked at me and said trust me, you wont need it these thing can rattle a nail out of a wall! Now I see what he meant!
  21. Does anyone here have experience with the Klipsch KG 2.5's What are your thoughts?
  22. It's a really solid center for sure. I'm still going to build a version with 2 10's to better match up with the RF7's Ha, perhaps I should just build a custom center! That would be really awesome! How would you go about doing that, where would you buy the drivers, ebay?
  23. Actually, I just brought home a pair of KLF-10 speakers, with Crites tweeters (had never heard any Crites improvements, so I simply wanted to experience a little for myself). Having just sold my C7 center 2 weeks ago, I put my KG 2.2v center between them. I thought they (the 3) sounded great together. Now, I have not experienced a long and varied run with that combination, but surely sounded excellent to me. But then, I may be more modest, because I like the KG 2.2 sound. My opinion, anyway. Yes, I agree, the KG2.2 is actually a very nice speaker and so is the Academy. My beef with the Academy is to me, it just doesn't hold up well against any of the other dual 8" center speakers. The RC-7 is leaps and bounds ahead IMO. That's a nice one but for some reason when I look on ebay they only have it in canada.
  24. 13W7 isn't that a car subwoofer? A very good sub nontheless I used to have the JL Audio 12w3 and that thing was pretty damn good! How's it working out for in home application?
