  1. I will give this a try. It will be 3 weeks before I get back up there to try. Can't wait. I currently have tweeter on 0db , but can go all the way to 8db cut if need be. 0 gave best definition at that time.
  2. Thanks a bunch. I can do that. Just need to change mid tap to equal 16db attenuation. I can go as much as 18db attenuation with the cornscala/ wall ALK.
  3. Claude said it was. More bass, but I have not seen that yet.
  4. I have been reading and some have had same issue using the ALK cornscala universal crossover. Not sure this is the problem yet, hope not.
  5. I don't have any fresh pics yet, but will once the grills are complete.
  6. The k33? Yes, they sounded great, but the cornwall is now a cornscala with Kappalite 3015's in them.
  7. Spent a couple hours with the Cornscala's today. Finished with the foam inside and put the back panels back on. Rubbed them out with more teak oil and some 0000 steel wool. They look different from a typical Cornscala, but have character. Think they turned out nice. Ok, I had them set up in my fathers garage for now and wired to my Douk 13W KT88 amp and using my spare Yamaha DVD/CD player. They sounded surprisingly good for the first listen, but the bass wasn't quite there. On the Universal cross over I moved the black wire on the autoformer from 6db to 3db, this gave the mid a very hollow tone, so went back to the 6db setting which I thought sounded pretty nice. Thought it might help boost the bass, but did not. Next I noticed the highs didn't sparkle like they should, so moved the tweeter setting from 2db to 0db. This gave it the sparkle it was missing. I'm still trying to figure where the full bass is at. Ok, new 3015LF drivers, maybe they just need to loosen up? The garage is 24x24, so maybe just a big room? Maybe the amp too small to make them shine. I need to get them inside before I try anymore adjustments on the crossover. My amp does have 4 and 8ohm output jacks and I figured since the woofer is 4ohm I should be on 4ohm output jacks? I need a whole day with them and the thumper amp. Components DE85, DE120 and Kappalite 3015LF.
  8. Ok, just throwing that out there. It would of cost me between $56 -$75 to ship without that discount. Using Ebay allowed me to not have to just give them away, which would of happened if I have shipped on my own.
  9. Yeah, I just sold 2 K33 woofers on Ebay. One went to AR for $15.77 shipping cost to buyer. Hope this helps
  10. Yes shipping rates are crazy. I just sold some things and shipped from Michigan to California left me very little profit. I think I made $15 on a k77 tweeter. What a waste. Best way to sell those is through Ebay with calculated shipping to the buyer. Ebay will give way discounted rates to the buyer.
  11. I have 2 different Chinese tube amps and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I have a Douk 13w K88 model and a Audcom 60w EL34 model. Both amps have been great. I have had the Audcom for close to 20 years now without any issues. I use KT77 JJ's in it and it rocks big time. When I had it on my Vertical Cornwalls, I have one corner of my living room that would hit 124db peaks. Its a rocker for sure. The Douk sounds real nice as well, but does not have the powerful punch of the Audcom at higher levels. At 75-85db its a great sounding amp and very surprising with only 13w.
  12. That would be interesting. I think the universal ALK has an Lpad for tweeter output. So your saying an Lpad mounted on the rear could control both mid and tweet? That would be nice.
  13. Ok, vertical horns sound good to my ear. I have the ALK universals, so there will be some adjusting on the mid and tweet output I’m sure. Hoping to get a listen next time I get up there.
  14. Thanks for selling them to me. Hard to find horn. I originally bought the JBL horn with the narrow throat and after reading many negatives about them I decided a open throat horn would be best. Fingers crossed that that sound good.
  15. Will see. I would have to build a complete new pair to center everything up on the motor board. When I originally built them as vert Cornwall, I screwed and glued the motor boards in. There was no way to remove them without destroying the the cabinet. My original plan in this build was to buy a pair of motor boards from Crites. So, it is a bit of a one of a kind Cornscala and in case you don't know, the vert tweeter sounds no different than a horizontal one.
  16. Sorry for the awful pics. took with my phone. I'll get better pics when their done.
  17. Had some time with the Cornscalas just about finished. Will need to get after the grills next.
  18. $80 for both plus shipping. $20 shipping Send to cudadave@outlook.com paypal
  19. Yes, 1 is a M and the other is not and both test 6.1 ohm.
  20. Tony, I still have both of these K77's. My buyer disappeared.
  21. Yes. The black Klipsch material I have is nylon and very stiff stuff.
  22. Thanks Kevin. I think I will do that. Let ya know. Thanks
  23. Thanks Neil. I had the Supers with the Zebra wood posted last year, but here are a few more. This zebra wood is a manufactured zebra wood called Zabrano and purchased at Oakwood veneers near you.
