They really are "garbage in - garbage out"  If it wasn't for my need of HDMI switching, I'd still be using my 1990 Yamaha Natural Sound receiver that was/IS wonderful and, I probably never would've had to put all of you through this!

Ahhh Yamaha...I feel guilty (almost) admitting this, but I have 2 HT setups using Yamaha's (with HDMI switching) and 3 2-ch systems using Yamaha's - 2 R-9's and 1 R-8.

You're a good man baron.  Using your link I called Suburbane Propane, quoted the EIA price sheet and had the price reduced to $2.99/gallon.  You saved me a bunch.  Thanks!   Send me a pm with your address and I'll send you some Bertie County Peanuts.

I appreciate that, but no need. Happy to help!

  3. I'm backing the AL-3's as well. Mine are still original and sound fine to me. I have no issues with base, however my Yamaha amp has a continuos loudness feature that let's me essentially roll the low end with the volume. I'm very happy with my La Scala's and I think you will be too. Happy listening!

I reached out and got this info. I am passing on these as I prefer WO finish.

    "Richard,

I purchased these in 2008 and upgraded the tweeters and crossovers soon after. I had read about the Crites revisions on the Klipsch discussion board. None of the drivers have issues. I've never driven them to the clipping point. The grilles are a little wobbly, and need the velcro tabs re-adhered. Cabinet finish is faded, but there is minimal scratching. They're very presentable I think.

    Best,

    Bruce"
