For some reason, I just can't get past the nastiness in that photo. I wonder how much care they gave those wonderful speakers when they can't even wipe the mildew or mold off their basement walls. Those poor speakers.

I think you're right.  The only thing the nastiness could work to increase sales for is an animal rescue situation.  Heck, a couple of pieces of posterboard propped up behind them would do wonders for the presentation.

  2. May not be an issue, but for anyone building a clone, you might consider rotating the mounting holes for the woofer a bit (22.5 degrees, I think).  The reason is that upper and lower T-nut is right where the diverters (ramps) are, and any excessive screw length used for woofer mounting will impinge on the diverter joint.  If you clock everything it ends up putting the T-nuts where they won't hit the diverters at all.

I am having some difficulty visualizing what that would look like.

Not to worry.  I have these available for sale.  $49.99 + a flat $25 shipping & handling fee gets you 10 specially treated screws (straight-blade, analog).  Phillips or Torx also available at a slightly higher cost.  You won't believe your ears.
