  1. I was getting on some ac tech forums before getting a new hvac unit for the house here. I was reading about the two speeds for increased comfort, and that they push them as saving you money. The techs were saying that ac works at its highest efficiency wide open, and the two speeds didn't save money. In fact it costs more to run. Im not real smart but I knew on low speed, it would just take longer to cool. Also me going from a 14 SER rating to a 17 was going to save me maybe 50 bucks a year on my electric bill for the whole season. I went 95 efficiency on the heat . I went from 2 and a half ton to 3 ton and only spent 4800 total on a Carrier compared to 6800 for the one they were pushing and you can spend alot more than that. I did get the better filter system. The tech told me he has the least problems with the one speed cheaper models but people building new houses always get the top of the line thinking thats the way to go. Im very happy with it so far. Just had it put in about three months ago. A great install is the most important thing!
  2. Those RP160Ms have the same tweeter. I think voices sound so real with these horns and they do alot of other things well. Im listening to Piano now that sounds very good! Do you think the tweeter is better on the RB5 or RP160M? Peace.
  3. Thank you for the responses guys. This is what I wanted to know. These are only 2 ways so the tweeter is taking care of the higher midrange down to 1800 hz, and the woofer is taking care of the mids from 300hz to 1800hz. The tweeter is level with my head to moray's point. But I have the chair reclined a bit so im kind of between them most of the time. If you haven't heard a pair you need to. They sound great for the money spent. I know a lot of people think they are more for movies, but music sounds great also. I did bring the 400hz range up a bit, to help the lower mids keep up with the horns, and tame a little brightness in the high mid and highs just a fuzz due to ears being in an chemical plant for 35 years. When I was young in the 70s and 80s that treble knob was almost wide open so im sure that didn't help either. Ive been looking at other speakers a little and there is always better but these sound great to me Whatever I get down the road if anything will have horns attached. My short list is Klipsch, Great Plains, PI, JBL Peace!
  4. I don't have the room. Im really happy with these at the moment. I usually don't listen that loud and im not looking for the best just something sounds good and puts a smile on my face. Forte would be the biggest I would ever see me going if I decide to move up down the road. I have the money just not the space. New La scales new price would sting abit lol. I like these being narrow but still throw out some great sound. The tweeters right at ear level is great also. I know you can lift up the others but we are good. Peace!
  5. I have a pair. Just curious and theres not much online about them. I know a phase plug is usually on the inside.
  6. Does the pointed piece on the end work like a phase plug in a way? Just on the very outside of the driver?
  7. Somebody give rockhound a like! Its on 666!
  8. Been smoking the pork butt for 11 hours. Checked temp and it was 203 degrees in most places but stuck 194 degrees in a few and the bones still tight. I will check it in a hour. Started around 240 degrees for the first 4 hours or so and then jacked it up to about 270 degrees the last 8 hours. Its cooking fairly fast for a 10 pounder!
  9. I guess we went to different schools together! We came thur at a good time! Loved the 60s.70s, 80s!

    The Night Shift

I had to listen to Night Shift and dang I enjoyed it! A girl I liked in hight school loved them, so I had to pretend I didn't. I loved the rock back then, but grew up when they were on top of their game. I listened when the buds weren't around a little. They were very talented for sure.
  13. Talking gross stuff im getting ready to start a 10 lb pork butt on the Smoker!!! May use a touch of sauce which takes us back to ketchup. Most will just have some rub on it!
  14. I want some of that shit your smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A friend that just passed told me how to make great potato wedges. slice the tater into 1/8 around sections and bake till soft. Let cool and then sprinkle with flour and spices. Then deep fry. His name was Rodger Thornburg and he was one of the baddest people ive ever met. Nicest to if you left him alone. You can still find him listed online as 2nd in the world in armwrestling in the 70s! RIP.
  15. I think so. I haven't met everyone yet but im working on it.
  16. I had mine given to me. I gave a guy a small a/c unit and he gave me this french fry cutter. He got it out of a old farmhouse he was helping take down. I have it mounted on a board. You can still buy them. I have a smaller one I got at bass pro and it works pretty well also. Its alot like this one and it sticks to counter with suction. Theres a few places around here that still make them like this.
  17. I got a french fry cutter that makes them big or skinny. I like um skinny like in the pic. Mine don't have the green stuff but thats all that looks different. Heres what one of mine looks like. Alot better than frozen!
  18. Ive been married almost the whole time but I guess some do. I think after a certain age women care more about being treated good and a good dose of bullshit don't hurt. I got a bud from work thats very average looking but can bag women looks and money wise way out of his league. He's half nuts and full of shit with a horseshoe haircut but that guy amazes me lol.
  19. Ya thanks Dad! I didn't like it when it stated going but now that I shave it im fine with it. At 56 it don't bother me because no ones looking anyway. I wish it would all quit growing so I would not have to shave it!
  20. It was funny when I first started not alot were shaving their head. I had a Harley at the time and always been easy going but people seemed to think I looked mean. I could tell a few stories about it but I won't. I was 30 when I started.
  21. When I first shaved my head they did fit testing for air masks shortly after. I went over to the room the ladies were doing the testing. I walked in and looked around at some other guys in there that had hair and said, I thought the paper you sent out said we needed to have a clean shaven head. She said no it said face. They got a chuckle and were telling people what they thought I had unknowingly done but the joke was on them! Ive been shaving my head for 26 years now. I have a Van dyke. Its a goatee and mustache together. I didn't know that was what it was called until a few years ago. Heres a pic of me.
  22. I chose Mr Clean on here due to my fancy hairdo😎! I kind of look like the smiley face on the post.
