  1. I would have to disagree that you cant buy as much sound for the dollar. You can buy from Phase Technology, PSB, and get as much sound for th buck as klipsch reference on the low to mid end and Theil will flat spank them in look and sound for around the same money on the high end. And yes the klipsch reference is mostly made in Arkansas but how long till that changes? not long would be my guess.
  2. true not suprising but dissapointing from the "American Legend in Sound". They still the headquarters in Indianapolias and some production in the USA but from what ive seen most of it has shifted overseas and the quality went down alot. It does make buying new speakers easier though I know i can pretty much skip over Klipsch on the list.
  3. Well my 2 cents worth. Klipsch used to make an awesome product, but recently in a great example of corporate greed has decided to mass market there equipment and start building a good portion of their products in china. This has led to quality issues and in my opinion a negative image in alot of peoples eyes. So let the chinneese that they pay 38 cents an hour buy their speakers.
  4. Here is a photo of both of them. The NAD is in mint condition the Adcom is perfect except for a few light scratches on the top, but these are very light
  5. Say what you will if i had been without a receiver for 5 weeks after my new one quit i would feel screwed if they gave me 2 new ones. I would be extremely pissed at H/K for that type customer support if it were going to take that long to fix your $1000 receiver they should have sent you a new one immediately not screwed around for over a month and the only reason they even done it then is you complained enough
  6. I used the adcom to drive the left and right channel the NAD powered the center, and surrounds The reciever has full 5.1 ins and outs
  7. Here is a picture showing both pieces in my equipment rack
  8. I worked for a dealer that sold Sunfire they sound good with klipschs as they have a laid back almost tube like quality. I have heard of them being very picky of the AC power they are being fed and also have seen some produce a buzzing through the tweeters on klipschs if nothing is playing but they do sound good and make good power. However they do not truly make 425 a channel continous as they say on some of them because its simply impoosible to make over 2800 watts when a wall outlet can only provide 1800

  14. ok ive narrowed this down to the HK525 and the Elite 45tx they are the only two i can readily get. The HK is $645 best i can do on the elite from an authorized dealer i got to drive two hours to get to is $799. I like the looks of the elite and the "THX" logo i know dont even say it lol. But how does the bassmanagment work on it. Is the crossover the same for all channels or is it like the HK where the fronts can be at say 50hz and center and surrounds at 80? Also does it do HDTV component switching and if so how many inputs. Any info on which is the nicer unit would be much appreciated
  15. does anyone know a good place to order the pioneer elite online?
  16. If i purchase one of these receivers i plan to sell my NAD T751, I like it using the klipschs it plays plenty loud i would just like component switching since i have 4 compontent devices also i would like a lil better bass managment. The HK i can get at circuitcity and the NAD is from a local highend dealer. I know the NAD will make right around 92 watts all channels driven according to sound and visions review. Anyone ever seen a good review on the HK?
  17. Hi i have the complete klipsch 3 series rf-3II rc-3II using rb5II for surrounds and rsw15 sub. I currently have an NAD T751 receiver and im looking to upgrade im also going to be using an ADCOM 5500 2 channel amp to drive the front left and right speakers with the new reciever as i am now with the NAD. I have narrowed my choices to what are available around me the Harman/Kardon AVR525($675), NAD T752($650), Pioneer Elite VSX45TX($775). I like the bass managment on the HK since i could use SACD DVD audio with bass managment and also that i can set different crossover frequencies for the fronts, center, surrounds so i can use the fronts almost full range but sill cut the others, but ive been brainwashed by NAD to beleive HK recievers have no power and are junk just scared to take the leap any comments would be greatly appreciated thanks
  18. I own both there is a difference but not a very pronounced one. The RSW-10 is completly different much less amp.
  19. The Ears do you really expect us to believe anyone has 48,000 watts rms in their house if the amps were 100% efficient it would require 400amps of current at household 120volts to make this type of power most homes have at most a 200amp service so their is problem number 1. next most amps are about 50% efficent meaning you now need 800amps give me a break. Ok well you say he never uses all 48,000 only about 5-10w on peaks according to an earlier post well the standby power consuption would still be very high not to mention he must be a total dumbass if he payed for 48,000 watts of which he uses 5-10 maybe have a 1,000 watts of amplifaction but 48,000. I seem to notice that you always have or know someone that has these super systems you must live in audio ville or something give us a break
  20. I would say the RF-7 sounding better is very room dependent i sold klipsch speakers and the RF-7 is very bright with certain amps and in some rooms i chose the RF-5 simply because i liked the sound a lil better. In the right room the RF-7s could be awesome but for a lot of customers they are way to bright almost to the point of it sounding like they have no bass output at all. But again in the right room they could sound good just not a reflective one
  21. So you were running more than one sunfire off of a single wall outlet? No, I didnt work for the Audio Connection i worked for another store in Southern Indiana for awhile i have been in the Audio Connection and talked to both dave and jason but neither knew the exact amount of current drawed by a sunfire. Do you know what size the fuse in the back panel of one of your sunfires is?
  22. Are you using one outlet for 2 subs or one circuit at least. or does the subs have a fuse on them like the klipschs that would give a good idea of the max current a sunfire would draw
  23. Hi im looking at getting a Sunfire sub but am concerened with the amount of current it will be drawing. I have other electronics running off the same circut and need to know if im going to need more current in the room to run a sunfire or not anyone have any input on this subject.
  24. Just because a DVD has both tracks doesnt mean they are from the same master or that the DTS version isnt in some way doctored up to sound better
