  1. Hello everyone, I currently have a 2 channel setup with RF83s, Sunfire 300 Two amp and a Yamaha WXC-50 Streamer/internet radio/preamp/dac. Sounds fabulous to my ears, but the sound profile changes when the volume is turned up, it gets a little hot. From what I have read, the WXC-50 volume looks like the culprit here. I am looking for a streamer/dac/internet radio/preamp that is MATCHED to the level of the RF83 speakers and the Sunfire amp's abilities. Not a US$10k exotic DAC, which would be overkill. I have been looking at the Oppor Sonica DAC, Cambridge Audio CXN and 851N, Naim, Aurelic Alair, Mcintosh MB50, among others. Since I am international I can't really buy to audition and return to try different ones, so I have to research a lot before purchasing. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
  2. I think Sunfires really works well with Klipsch. I have the Sunfire 300 Two, connected the HF to the current source for a more "tube like" sound, and the LF to the voltage source for a tighter low. RF 63 and RF83 are in the picture, but I prefer the 83s for music, the 63s are in my HT. In my HT i have a Sunfire Ultimate and could not be happier, switched from a Yamaha RX-V679 and haven't looked back, IMO its in a different league!!
  3. I just hooked up my RF 63 to a Sunfire 300x2 and I could not be happier in my 2 channel system. For HT I have the RF 63, RC 62 ii, RS 52 ii and two RSW-10D subwoofers, all run through a Sunfire Ultimate. My previous receiver was an RXV-679, so it was quite a jump up, I feel as if ALL my gear is new!! I am still a newbie, but I can't stress enough the importance of just finding a combination that is right for your ears, not the reviews. I liked sunfire, so I double down, not necessarily what will work for you. Enjoy your journey towards discovering what will make your speakers sing, and you happy, it is half of the fun!!!
  4. Could you just use the Ultimate as a seperate amp using the 8 ch inputs?? This will make the UR a 1 box solution as well as a seperate amp solution?? This can make you enjoy your gear while building up the checkings account to keep upgrading?
  5. Problem solved, it was a missing screw!!! Made the air passing through whistle. Thank you for all you suggestions
  6. Thank you all for all the great suggestions, I will be following up on all these steps. I never even thought of maybe the squeak no being the sub but furniture beside it! Have been trying to hear over the system sound due to lack of time and makes it difficult to identify where its coming from, running only the sub will help alot.
  7. It sound like something physical, not electronic. Sounds more like a loose piece over an air whistle leak. Only when pushed, for regular music its perfect.
  8. I have dual Klipsch RSW-10d on a HT and Music setup. Absolutely no problem with music, but when pushed with strong, deep effects in movies, one of the subwoofer makes a strange squeaking noise. What could this be?
  9. Thanks willland. What you are saying is that you can notice a sound quality upgrade with the RX-A 1060 and above, below that the upgrade is not really noticeable.
  10. I am thinking of a Yamaha receiver, with separate 150w-200w amp for Klipsch RF63 Towers and dual RSW-10D subs. Being comparable models in power and features, would there be a difference in the "sound" between the Yamaha RX-V and the RX-A Avenge lines?? I know the Avenge has better quality components, but does it really translate to your ears??
  11. I think you are spot on, this is exactly what I should do!! Better all around performance, keep my most used features, not spend a ton and can expand power amps as needed!!! Thank you very much for all your help, i really appreaciate it!!
  12. I use a lot of the net radio, usb, air play, bluetooth, etc... that my Yamaha offer so I would like to stick with Yamaha, plus my wife learned how to use it. I was thinking a similar model with pre outs to complement with a 2-3 channel amp. Would be great to go full out Emotiva though!!!!
  13. I am in Dominican Republic, but I can order to Miami and get shipped here.
  14. Thanks The History Kid, very useful insight. In general, forget bi-amping and feed the RF 63's with enough power (150w-200w). Thinking of a higher model AVR, maybe a Yamaha RX-A3060, or maybe a cheaper model, with good options, and a separate amp for juice. Emotiva, outlaw, etc... Really appreciate the guidance!!!!
  15. Thanks for your help willland. What do you suggest I pair them with. I am confortable with Yamaha recievers, maybe an Aventage with a seperate amp for the fronts?? Any suggestions on how to make the rf63's shine??
  16. I have 2 RF 63 with 2 rsw-10d subs, crossed over at 80htz, on a Yamaha RX-V679 with 90 watts 2 channels driven. It gives me the ability to bi-amp with the unused channels from the 7.2 back surrounds. The questions is should I bi-amp, would there be a difference?? Serves as double duty hifi and 5.2 HT.
