Are the RB-35 admired for Two-Channel Listening?
DanSoloRocker replied to DanSoloRocker's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Well, I did the deed and now they sound great! Approximately $300 for speakers and one replacement tweeter. I think I’m done searching for any other bookshelf speakers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Nothing was disconnected and I even switched outputs from my receiver. It definitely sounds like it has been blown. I found a used one on eBay. I’ll definitely post an update when I receive it. -

Well, I've brought the pair home, cleaned them up and resuscitated them (sort of). One horn has no sound. I've opened it up as well as the crossover and everything looks intact. The other one sounds nice. Update: It does have sound but very subtle; nothing impressive. TIA -

Wow, I didn’t think about the RC-7’s. -

Thanks. I agree but the RB-75’s are rarely found affordable for me. -

Thanks for your input, sir. While on the subject, what would be a proper ranking in satisfaction for these bookshelf speakers? Something like this? RB-75 > RB-5 (I or II) > RB-35 > RB-81 (I or II) -

Thanks, Bill. I think I will go ahead with the purchase. I used to own a pair of RB-81 II's and kind of miss them. However, I can't pay their price today. I'm assuming the following ranking of satisfaction is somewhat accurate? RB-75 > RB-5 (I or II) > RB-35 > RB-81 (I or II) Dan. -

Hello and thanks. I think the RB-75's prove elusive both literally and financially for me. I did read that these 35's seem more like the 81's. I'll go ahead and take this affordable chance, especially since the finish looks nice. There is a pair of RB-5's on ebay. What do you think of those? 🙂 -
Until recently, I had forgotten some of old Phil's "famous" remarks. On the subject of marriage: "When a man opens the car door for his wife, it's either a new car or a new wife." 😀

They are posted again and still no additional pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BTW . . Did I mention that I just happened upon a pair of Black Chorus II speakers? Gotta thank FB and my hungry eyes for that one. My search is over! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, I finally found a pair of Forte I's but NOT black. They are a "Lacquered Oak" according to the one remaining sticker behind one of them. [emoji846]

I think they are no longer for sale. Maybe someone got to them already. 😐
-
Could someone who is familiar with the RB-75's confirm if that's what is visible here in this For Sale post in FB? I messaged the seller but he won't sell them separately from the pack. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1460850507587776/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search I can't post the images from here. 😕

At the risk of seeming redundant, I found this interesting subject about the future of personal sound. Think of the possibilities! I could use this while working when historically I would not be allowed via headphones or speaker. https://apnews.com/article/new-tech-device-sound-beaming-noveto-38327ae5fe116080a5eaf2374eb0f5c8

Anyone interested in this pair of limited edition Forte III's? Not my listing nor am I associated in any way to the seller. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ele/d/dallas-speakers-klipsch-heritage-forte/7191327160.html

The Stars are going to the Stanley Cup Finals!!!

I almost had a pair of practically pristine black Forte II’s (fleabay). But I was mistaken as their posterior tags were labeled “Oak Oil”. Imagine the heresy of such discovery!
-
Will definitely do!
-
Ok, . . . uh . . . they DON’T have to be black. Really. Tough crowd.

Hi everyone. If anybody has the knows the whereabouts regarding a nice looking and wonderful sounding pair of Forte I's (or II's) in Black, then I would be interested in acquisition. Must be in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and within 4 hours drive (preferably less than) of DFW. Is this too much to ask I ask?

Look what I've discovered! An audio relic from the 40's.

How about these links for a reference? I believe the one I used to own (though non-working) was built in 1948. However, I'm not sure, if that's not mid-century, what is? The style is early twentieth century, I suppose. http://www.myvintagetv.com/magnavox_windsor.htm https://magnavoxhistory.com/portfolio/1948-record-playerradio/ 🤨
