Hehe you just *had* to dig out that old thread huh? It is really a shame, though, that the 9700Pro does not support two DVI outs (it is to be found on Matrox Parhelia as well as the upcoming FireGLX1-version of 9700Pro). - Hardy

I would look into a Matrox card. They are famous for producing *the best* picture quality (very high quality RAMDACs etc.) All the new cards (which has a DVI out) can drive an HDTV in is max resolution (is it called 1040i?) but it is my impression that not all of them are good at it. You might want to look into ATI Radeon All in Wonder (8500 is the highest-numbered model for the moment), too. - Hary

This is *really* funny!! If Bo$e happened to be any good they would show up on audiophile sites. I mean, they certainly have the right "audiophile price tag" but that's about it. A somewhat famous Danish brand, Bang & Olufsen, comes to mind. It is all about design (it is widely known that they use Philips components), and the design is very expensive. Bo$e tries another approach, mind washing. I mean, whenever you go on a trans-continental flight they have full page ads for "sound cancellation headsets" and what have you (they are *expensive*) Complete with diagrams and funky colours. Heck, they even try to shove their clock radio down people's throats on those bargain price programs on cable. Tv shop, QVc or whatever ( No for the love of God, do not get anywhere NEAR Bo$se! I have only heard them once, when I was much younger. At that time my reference was something like a JVC mini-HIFI set, and compared to that, a Bo$e setup sounded allright. But I have never seen them in-store next to some half decent gear. Wonder why that is? - Hardy

If you plan to make them yourself, it should not be that expensive (stupid to buy the Monster wire upgrade if it turns out to be something else). Does the crackling appear no matter WHAT you play? When I started using PowerDVD XP 4, the speakers started to sound like an old radio after an hour or so of DVD playing. Nothing else produced it, and it disappeared completely when I changed to WinDVD 4. - Hardy

Hmmm on second thought... I tried to enable digital output on my system, and then I ONLY get a hissing. No musiv, nothing but the hissing static. Try to reattach all the cables (I remember someone writing that a loose speaker wire caused that kind og behaviour). - Hardy

I don´t know how you hooked up the speakers but has it been like this all the time? Because it sounds like what happened to me when I turned on digital output by accident (only I have a set of PM5.1s but still horrible) - Hardy

I would save the money for better movies than "panic room". It does not sound that good, judging from the reviews. Death to smoochie is a keeper, however! -Hardy
