  4. try to catch up internet was down I enjoyed winter as a kid. As an adult, it was less fun. It is pretty when it's like that. Last time I was up there, my BIL found me out on the lake in the canoe, in the snow ... fishing. Bluegill were biting. They bs'ing you when they tell you 100`+ doesn't hurt. It ain't even nice on a bike. Gets like a blast furnace. You stop every 20 min to drink. ... a white crust grows on ya. Fun? That would be June. I have a kiddie pool for the kid ... ha kid. I lay in it .. does the word siesta mean anything? a concept I fully embrace The rains start in July and you see the locals drowning in it, looking up at the sky.
  5. I have a low mileage brain.... everything else is pretty well wore out the right hand doesn't get much use. Picking nose is about it. It does get a little more beat up than the left. I save my dominant hand for important things ... like eating

  9. It looked like that for an hour or so yesterday. The sun came out and it was all a bad [day] dream. The weather should fair up for your wedding. The street fair and golf will be done. I see 80 in the forecast next week. seems my sisters have a wager on how long it will take me to get that equipment down here. Think they have already crossed off Sept HaHaHa
  10. another nudge... the first step is the hardest. Once you get going ...
  11. just start building. Put some stuff together and see for yourself. The art is in making it simple. Complicated is easy.Once you start the build, better ideas will come. And you modify. It is a whole process.
  12. as one who questions "conventional wisdom" which does tend to discourage experimentation ... I waded through a lot of discouraging comments with some of my "off the wall" ideas. Proof of concept and a working prototype will go a long way. Then watch out for intellectual property theft. One of my concepts for r/c helicopters appeared on a major makers shortly after I showed a proof of concept. I prefer to think it was parallel evolution but, it was awfully coincidental. Until you see it won't work, go for it. .
  13. that's how I feel about SouthDakota. Wonderful people ... Don't know why they stay there?????. time to toss some wood in the fire and make some mud. Domestics today. Oh boy! Major decision today.... Ethiopian, Colombian, Sumatra or ??? beans The choice at the Merc varies with what the roaster sends. Vasubandu, Crackpot and fruitcake are words that were used to describe the likes of Tesla and a few other creative geniuses. I'm not there, yet. I don't think I am..
  14. I am nearly mainstream conservative here.... in town
  15. actually, I am practicing "eccentric". Now, I just need some $$$
  16. that's what I am afraid of happening to me the folk that are into r/c have threads about not being able to stop ... "Heli-crack"
  17. I spent a week on the beach in the OlympicRainForest. It didn't rain for the whole time. The fog was so thick, it didn't need to rain to be wet/dripping. I did a lot of things when I was young and irresponsible/r
  18. She doesn't share my enthusiasm. However ... I suspect her "boyfriend" ... he is/was a corporate pilot, might be interested in hooking it up ... just to see. lol
  19. Vasubandu, I have friends from there [more or less], PortSusan, that winter in Yuma. They take the sun for granted now.
  20. that's why you don't hear about big fires in the "desert". You would be very surprised. It not really desert here. Check out Coronado National Forest. There is a bit of a bog 2 blocks away. Arivaca Cienega/BuenosAires Nat Wildlife Preserve Cienega is code for swamp/ish. There's a flock of redwing blackbirds in the tree. Can hardly hear the tv. Lots f life around. Hummingbirds pick cat hairs off my pants. Watched a clutch from nest build to fledge. They dinna hide the nest. I had to be careful to not hit it in my normal travel around the yard.
  21. spoke too soon about not getting snow. We got an inch or so around 10AM. It was gone at noon. here just long enough to remember me why I don't live up north. You ask for a snow shovel down here, all you will get is a funny look. Finding a frost scraper is hard enough.
  22. she musta been on her best behavior HaHaHa she is nice ... don't make her angry. You will see my father come out... lol just talked to her. They were unloading them before they go shooting. That scares me. I know her. the guns part
