  1. "Based on results of the first round of testing, the research team estimates that approximately 4.1% of the county’s adult population has antibody to the virus. " Similar study in Belgium comes to a percentage of 3%. Samples were taken before lockdown and strickt social distancing. So numbers should be around 5% now. It means 'herd immunity' is nowhere near (60%), so we all must wait it out until a vaccine is provided.... Is that good news?
  2. Just to make sure you got this right: the virus hides in the blood, not in 'the other fluid'.
  3. The news in Belgium was that more males are seriously ill from covid 19 than females, because the virus hides in the testicles. It takes about two days longer for the immune system to deal with the virus because of that. Two days that can make the difference between life and death.
  4. Many pages ago (!) I posted a picture illustrating that President Trump used a graph to show how well the US was doing in battling covid 19. In the picture, Belgium was listed as doing worst of all, even worse than Italy and Spain. I've noticed that some users here felt as being attacked because I mentioned 'fake news', or the thread being politicized. This was never my intention. I apologize for that. First, let me explain why I haven't reacted here sooner. I'm a highschool teacher, and since Monday, with the Easter holiday ended, teaching has started again. No, the Belgian schools are still closed, but like thousands of colleagues, I have been working hard to prepare online lessons for each of my 150 students. It's a lot of work, and for many, homeschooling is a totally new concept. I've been working on this since the second week of the Easter holiday, and it will continue until the schools are opened again. Also, I have three teenaged kids myself, who are now being 'homeschooled' by me. My wife is still working outdoors, as a office assistant in law office. She's the only one at the office, the lawyers are working from home. My wife is working very long days and leaves early in the morning and gets back home late. So basically, I'm running a full time household and a full time teaching job... Now, let me explain why Belgium is doing so bad, if you believe the numbers. First things first: Belgium has successfully 'flattened the curve'. We 've reached the peak more than a week ago and the number of deaths are steadily diminishing. Second: why these bad statistics? In Belgium, our count of deaths includes not just those confirmed cases of people who died of corona in hospital, but also includes ALL the deaths registered in the homes for the elderly (woonzorgcentra, WZCs). That's right, even if that person died of cardiac arrest, trombose, old age, no matter what, they are registered as corona-deaths. Of course, by doing this - it is controversial - Belgium is 'cooking its own numbers'. Some say it is a stupid thing to do, others say it is a way of making sure the population is afraid and respects social distancing and all the other directives... In any case, it is a disgrace that so many people in these homes of the elderly, including the caregivers, were left to die like this: masks etc were/are hidden from them for some obscure reason, and all of them die alone, away from their friends and family, because there is a 100% lockdown... It has already been decided that later, a parliamentary investigation will look into how this could happen, in order to prevent it will never happen again....
  5. Uhm, to make himself and the US look better, perhaps? Cooking the numbers...
  6. According to President Trump, my country - Belgium - is doing worse than Spain and Italy. See pics included. Yet our Belgian experts and journalists are telling us that we are successfully 'flattening the curve'. Who is spreading fake news?
  7. There are alternatives for it with Mometasonfuroat as working compound, which is not addictive. But it takes 3 to 4 weeks to have an effect.
  8. We have two bakeries in our little town. Both are excellent professionals. But the one's bread will make me sick, guaranteed, within 6 hours, horrible headache, neck and back pain a muscle pain, disrupted stool. The bread of the second bakery does not affect that bad at all. What's the difference? The flower, the yeast? I wouldn't know, bu I can assure you I avoid the 'bad' bread at all times. With age the symptoms are getting worse too... An allergy is no 'imaginary disease' or 'fallback diagnosis'.!
  9. Anyone looking for a more international, commercial and non-commercial evaluation of the Covid-crisis, should take a look here: https://www.dkv.global/covid
  10. I watched this and it 's very informative to hear an alternative voice. In Belgium, where I live, some people say something similar, but don' 't get to the mainstream media. Some f.i. blame the G4/G5 cellphone network for the bad condition of our immune system. If Dr Shiva is right, it means that this pharmaceutical lobby has brought the world' s economy to its knees. It is so radical it is scary. Only a few countries didn't follow the WHO , at first, like the Dutch, the UK, Sweden and Brasil. The Dutch and the UK quickly changed course. We'll have to wait a long time imp before we'll know who is right here.
  11. Only in America, you can call an organization an NGO (non-governmental organization) while it is 86% funded by the US government and get away with it. It was so in 2016. Just one click further you have the definition of NGO: Non-governmental organizations (also known as NGOs,[3][4] or non-government organizations[5]) are organizations that are independent of any government. Please define 'independent'.
  12. Yet another example of fake news? Why even bother to give the name of the Dr who saved 90% of his covid(?) patients...? If he really did, it would be on the front-page of every newspaper globally. Edit: actually, if he saved 90%, he did a lot worse than his colleagues because they save 98%, as the death rate is on average 2%. So all the arguments in this article can be discarded? https://www.nytimes.com/article/coronavirus-hydroxychloroquine-malaria.html
  13. The problem with this text is that the author chooses to stay anonymous. Why? Is it fake news? It is for sure not fact checked. See screenshot. Throw together some difficult words, add a good deal of well versed retoric, don't bother noting down references and sources, and 1) you get webarchived within a week and 2) you're conspiracy theory feed. As much as I would like see Chloroquinine to be successful in battling this virus, I consider it false as long as this author doesn't step out of anonimity.
  14. Yeah sure, and there are plenty of refugee camps there, with no healthcare whatsoever for the occupants! And they live packed close and haven't heard of social distancing! 🤔
  15. I hope you can appreciate a joke. When studying your setup on my phone I accidently activated Google Assistant. This is what it suggested....
  16. Japan will be the next country collapsing under covid 19? 1) Japan only has 5 ICUs per 100,000 (compare with Italy (7), Belgium (15), Germany (29) 2) Japan has a 'grey' population, older than Italy (23%), with 28% older than 65 https://www.statista.com/statistics/270087/age-distribution-in-japan/ compare: https://www.statista.com/statistics/569201/population-distribution-by-age-group-in-italy/ 3) Their constitution, written after WW2, protects the freedom of the individual against government power. Therefore, the government can only "request people to refrain from making nonessential outings". https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2020/04/91d83be2865b-breaking-news-japans-aichi-pref-asks-govt-to-place-it-under-state-of-emergency.html 4) Japan has a population of 130 million, with many of them little or no access to quality medical care. Their Gini coefficient is 37.9, which means there are quite a lot of wealthy people, but even more poor people. (https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/gini-coefficient-by-country/) Compare: USA (45), Belgium (29), Germany (27) 5) Japan's workers ethos (no matter what, keep working) will be working against them 6) Many live closely together, in small apartments hooked up to shared AC systems. The virus easily survives freezing temperatures:AC.
  17. Wow, they look very impressive! What music do you play mostly? Is that 'Born in the USA' on the screen?
  18. This is what was done in that German town. A representative group of inhabitants was tested. Only 15 per cent was positive. Death rate 0.39 %.
  19. A German research project in a hot-spot did that and published the results on April 9. Only 15 per cent had been infected. Being a hot-spot, they had expected it to be much higher. This proofs that the herd immunity approach is not successful. Also, death rate is only 0.4 per cent, much lower than expected.
  20. It has arrived and it is brilliant! Up to now, I was using an Amazon Fire Tablet as DAC for Spotify Connect, hooked to my amp with an rca cable using the headphone output. My Tube cube has only 3w output so it wouldn't play loud at all. With the Microstreamer, it produces a lot more decibels now. It is very small: the Tube cube is the size of a CD case, thus wifi streamer is a lot smaller. It plugs directly into the rca connectors of the Amp. No cables required.
  21. I have a very basic Marantz amp with my Heresy I set, and I also have a cheap Chinese tube amp. It is my experience that the tube amp makes the Heresy speakers shine at low volumes, while the Marantz needs to play the Heresys at higher volume to make them open up. Your amp is more advanced than mine, especially with Audyssey, so it may well be that no tubes are required at all. It is something you'll have to take into account as you live in an apartment block, though. If you like feeling the bass with your stomach (and you don't mind the legal battles with your direct neighbours), you go the sub path. I'm myself a 2ch purist. I think my 1972 Heresy set does great in the low frequencies without a sub, but that's a very personal thing. And from what I have read here, the IVs are much better at low frequencies. If you want a purist sound, I'd unplug all except the Heresy set, and hit the 'Source Direct' button on your Marantz remote and then enjoy them for a couple of weeks like that. It may well be you'll get rid of all that clutter you don't use anymore, and never look back, and have more space to breathe... One more thing, there are great deals to be found on the Heresy IIIs, which are still great speakers...
  22. Buy the Heresys and hook them to your Marantz. Then run Audyssey. Next, trust your ears and start enjoying your setup. (You also may want to inform your close neighbours...) ;¬)
  23. As so often in the audiophile world, it cost a few hundreds to move from 'average' to 'good', and costs a few thousands to move from 'good' to 'brilliant', right?
