  1. Yes... i have been through the Epic Owners thread. Very good ideas there. I plan on posting my mods there as I go. I just got a pair of DH1506 drivers. Man they are heavy. Thanks again. nmorris43
  2. Altec210..... thank you so much for checking them out and offering them. If i hadn't found a pair within 30 mins of me, i would gladly purchase those from you. I got the pair locally and checked them and they are reading 5.0 on my multi meter, so I think I am good to go. Man those things are heavy!! Have a great day and rock on !! nmorris43
  3. Thanks wvu80.... did you make any changes to your crossover for use of the DH1506 drivers? I am having Crite rebuild my crossovers and wondering if any tweaks need to happen.
  4. Let me know what you need for them and if they are functioning.
  5. Yeah...i did search the posts. I also just posted in the Garage Sale portion a desire to buy 2 of the DH1506 drivers. Thanks.
  6. I want to buy 2 - ElectroVoice DH1506 drivers for my CF4's. Please let me know if you have any and what you need for them. Thanks in advance, Neal
  7. I have been emailing with Mike Crite about this situation. I am going to send him the crossovers to put back to original specs and replace the drivers with DH1506. Does anyone have any feedback about that approach?
  8. Anyone have any ElectroVoice Dh1506 drivers i could use to replace what I found on the horns?
  9. I have talked with him. He found them and turned them pretty quickly. I don't think he knew what the drivers were. I also didn't pay full value knowing I might need to do some upgrades.
  10. I am pushing them with a Rotel RB-990BX at 200 WPC.
  11. Ok everyone.... I was listening to my ,new to me, CF4's and i was not hearing what most CF4 owners say is very good sound reproduction. So, i decided after emailing with Mike Crite, to send the crossovers to him to rebuild. I proceeded to open up the CF4's and found that my tweeters do not have the K-63-KN drivers on them (see pics). No wonder the sound was way off from what i would expect them to have. I know that original K-63-KN drivers are almost impossible to find.I have heard that Electro Voice DH1506 drivers work well in this situation. Does anyone have any experience with those EV drivers? Or does anyone have any other suggestions to create suitable audio output? I plan on keeping these CF4's if i can get the sound to meet their potential so being "all original" is not a huge issue for me understanding the driver availability issue. Thanks for any help, Neal

  14. I agree CWO.... I think it was heat that created the curling to begin with. Wasn't sure anyone had completely removed the vinyl successfully and re coated the MDF with another product?
  15. I was thinking about trimming the curled area off with a razor knife and then painting that area black to match.
  16. I dont think its possible to reattach the vinyl. Its curled and warped pretty badly. I cant be the first guy to run into this issue with these speakers.
  17. Newbie here.... I just purchased my first pair of CF4's and the vinyl front is curling and a lower corner is broken off. What has anyone else done with this vinyl on the front? See picture for example of what is happening.
  18. Here is where its worst. Thinking about either trimming that portion off or recoating it with something.
  19. I just purchased my first pair of CF4's and the front vinyl is pulling away from the MDF in places. Is there a good remedy for this? I am considering all options.
  20. LOL..... Yeah I am a little late to the party.... I was hoping to mount the KSB 1.1's on stands utilizing the brackets on the back of the speakers. Not sure about them sitting on stands.
  21. What kind of stands do you have the KSB 1.1's on?? I am looking for some stands.

Sorry for the delay responding.... I am in Kansas.
  23. Back near the holidays i bought my first pair of KG4's. I have refinished them and built stands for them to get them up near ear level. The stands made a big difference to me in hearing the tweeter much better. I have ordered the Ti diaphragms for them. That will be my next upgrade.
  24. Is it possible to get replacement serial number tags for my KG4's?
