  1. I think it will be a great sounding system. SVS subs provide great lows. As for them being an 'exact match', I don't really know that timbre matching has anything to do with buying a sub, since they won't be sharing any of the same frequency ranges. I say go for it.
  2. Sorry, didn't see the "new". Anyone know if they have any specs listed yet?
  3. Also, the surrounds were sort of rounded instead of the old angular design.
  4. These definitely were not the synergy line, or at least any of the ones listed on this site. These were brand new looking, with silver drivers, front ports, etc. You can see the bottom of the speaks I'm talking about in this picture: Notice the silver drivers, and large front flared ports? I'm just wondering why these are on sale at BB, but nowhere on the website?
  5. I was at Best Buy over the weekend, when I spotted a full 5.1 setup of sharp looking speaks...they turned out to be Klipsch! I can't find them anywhere on the site here...except for in the pictures with Jermaine O'Neal...what's the deal. The Towers were selling for 800 a pair, and sounded great! Front ports, very nice grill attachments, and very sharp looking...why aren't they anywhere on the website? Or am I missing something?
  6. http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/audiotron/producthome.asp This is by far the best home MP3/WAV/WMA player on the market. Go here and check out the links to all the reviews (released in 2001, still getting product of the year awards in 2004). I've had one for 2 years, and I love it. You do have to have it networked to a computer though, so keep that in mind. Since it's on the network, and has an open source API, there are lots of cool apps written for it. You can control it with the remote, from any computer, or with a Wi-fi pocket PC. I get out a laptop at parties, and people queue up songs like a jukebox. Plus it has an optical out, so you can let your receiver's nice DAC do the work (in my case I rip HDCDs as WAVs, and my HK AVR525 decodes them as such as they are streamed!) Anyway, give it a look.
  7. Nice attitude. Hope you enjoy all the junk mail you're going to receive along with that ipod.
  8. I have a promedia sub under my desk with a thx logo on it...I guarantee it doesn't meet their requirements...it does sound good, but the thx sticker on it means just about nothing.
  9. I asked tom v a similar question about the 2531 vs the 2531 plus. He basically said that the + would have more ouput. I have the 2531 PCi now and am blown away by it. Sounds amazing. I can only imagine what two of those badboys together would sound like!
  10. Check these guys out: http://www.nashvillesuicidemission.com/ I've known these guys for quite a while, awesome musicians. Gotta have a taste for the HEAVY, but if you like heavy stuff, they won't dissappoint. The song Drag freakin rocks.

    Bad Santa

What're you guys talkin' about? That just came out on DVD...
  12. I hope not. Toying with us fans is not nice "That's because those are loverboy songs Err...and loverboy has always sucked. Right Meat-man?"
  13. Just my 2 cents: I have a pair of RB25's that I plan to use as rear surrounds. To test their output, I placed them on top of my RF3-IIs, and hooked them up as my mains, and then re-adjusted their output levels and crossover... They are EXCELLENT sounding speakers for their size, great clarity, good midrange...I think they would make great surrounds.
  14. I re-read and saw that you're not buying the whole package, I can tell you that I bought a lowlly pair of RB25s at the same discount rate.
  15. jep, You should expect at least 25% yield. I just bought 2 RF35's, 2 RCR 5s, and 1 RC-35, MSRP $2000, for $1500 at none other than Ultimate Electronics. I asked for 25%, and they gave it with almost no negotiating.
  16. Funny, I haven't seen a disappointing review of ANY SVS products. In fact, all ratings I've seen have been outstanding. Not really sure how these 'cheap' subs could disappoint. The RW series of subs aren't even in the same league as ANY of SVS's offerings, and some might say the same even about the RSW series (although I won't go that far).
  17. My AVR 525 does the same thing...but if it does it for every song, it's the way the CD is mastered (with no-signal gaps between songs). I use my audiotron now, and there is about a 1/4 second gap at the beginning of the first song, and nothing after that. It's just something I've gotten used to, especially since the darn thing sounds so great. Anyway, I didn't see anything about a download to fix this on Harman's web site. Could whoever posted this send me a link? thx
  18. Mandi, All DLPs have color wheels, except very expesnive 3 chip front projectors. The newer xHD3 models coming out next year have a 7 segment (as opposed to 6) color wheel, and 1080p resolution.
  19. I don't NEED no instructions to know how to ROCK!
  20. Uhhhh...what about this big dog? B4 PLUS "...obviously the most powerful subwoofer ever constructed for consumer use." Dr. John Johnson, Editor Secrets of Home Theater and Hi Fi John's review Just thought I'd throw it into the loop. John hit 110 db at 20 Hz OUTSIDE! This baby packs 4 12" ultra drivers! SVS B4-Plus Crown K1 Amplifier Rane PE-17 Equalizer Better Cables interconnects all for $3849.
  21. Sweet, G! "Getting a ten speed is easy. Filling it with illegal substances and smuggling it across the border is not."

    Twilight Samurai

What an AMAZING film. I can honestly say that this is one of the best films I've ever seen. Wow... Swept the Japanese Academy awards last year. See if it you can.

From what I understand, we are getting another season of Arrested Development, but it barely scraped by. It's ratings arent' that great. Maybe all those petitions I signed out on the web helped! But anyway, what a great show.

Geez. If people stopped watching this crap 'reality' tv and started watching origninal programming that talented people work hard to produce, maybe great shows like Arrested Development wouldn't be in danger of being cancelled.
