Just wanted to let everyone know that we are concerned about the problems with customer service. Here is the response I got from the head guy.....

“we’re dealing with unprecedented traffic and are drastically increasing the size of the team to get back to world class service asap.“

We have more than doubled the customer service reps as of last week. We appreciate your patience. Thanks.

Thanks for addressing it!!! I love Klipsch and hope that customer service can help us keep the legacy alive by not having to buy non-Klipsch parts to keep our old speakers sounding awesome!! To hear my 40 year old Cornwall, and go demo a set of 10k revel and decide NOT to get the revel because they don’t sound as good as my 40 year old set is a testament!!!! Can’t wait to save up to get the Cornwall 4 that others have said you have perfected!!!

    Impatient are we😁

Also I put them up with a time window, wasn’t too awfully worried about selling them. Just confused a set this nice didn’t go quickly. I went to take the ad down and saw smokinone had replied. It was bittersweet for sure! You do excellent work and smokinone will be lucky to have them, as was I!

Impatient are we😁?  I had no idea these were even up for sale as like many I don't go here all that often unless I am on the hunt. Smokinone told me he bought these and if they are the set I think they are they were pristine.

Still pristine! I’m hunting hard for a set of 2, and doing some temporary downsizing. Unfortunately I just went through a lumbar fusion and the extra cash will help. Smokinone and I had an excellent conversation and I couldn’t be happier that they’re going to someone who will truly enjoy and respect the set!

I also have one that I purchased from @joessportster

It's definitely a great amp. Super well built and sounds fantastic. Very powerful and does really well with both my Cornwalls and La Scalas. It was my first tube amp, and I love the aestetics of it so much that I bet I never sell it.

Yeah I think mines a keeper asswell! Dead quiet, great dynamics, surprising bass. I want to do some tube rolling, but a little concerned that I hit the jackpot. I told him what sounds I like and he loaded tubes that nailed it! Will is a great vendor.

I'm want to buy a Will Vincent amp. can anyone provide a contact number?

Here’s Will’s number, just bought one of his rebuilds, it’s beautiful. He powder coats em, great tubes, not sure if he chose the tubes by the sound I describe I liked, but the amp sure sounds exactly like I described down to the tube selection. It’s inky black quiet with better bas than any 70 I’ve heard or owned.
    Cheers,

I have been using a Marantz PM8004 integrated amp with my K-Horns and Heresy speakers as well as a pair of JBL L880 towers. These speakers are all on the bright side as you all know. This amp sounds very warm and seems to tame the brightness. I have a Teac DAC attached to it and running my iPod classic and even iPhone. I'm so surprised how good this sounds. Recently I decided to use my PM8004 as a Pre-amp and hook it up to a Marantz MM7025 power amp. The difference in sound was so amazing in a bad way. The sound was so clear and detailed and stereo separation was incredible. It was like listening to a completely different system. But now only very good recording sounded good everything else was harsh, bright and fatiguing on all speakers.

IPod/IPhone was unlistenable. I bought the amp used but in very good condition (looks new). I ended up switching back to just PM8004. Right away sounded warm and so good. I'll try the amp in another system may be needs time to break in?

I pair my pm8004 with a Will Vincent st-70 and the sound is sublime, just enough euphonics to make it sound multiples better than the individual pieces. I’d imagine a more detailed amp would take some of the “magic” away. Anywho....great gear, thought I’d share my victory, this combination is crushing on Cornwall 1!!!!

Easily reversible, PE has that 4" by 12"port you can cut down. Just make sure you measure  before you purchase if you go this route.

Thanks for the advice, if they don’t sell, I’m sure curiosity will get the better of me.

Have you tried the port mod? A few people have here and reported a nice change I recently built a pair of Chorus sized cabinets and added dual 7" long ports 4" inch in diameter to mimic the mod and the bass sounds just like my Chorus II's.

If they don’t sell I may try my hand at this if it’s reversible, my craftsmanship is mostly on the administration side of things haha

  9. Also I have to believe there’s a difference because these have been up for a day and they’re still here. Don’t get me wrong they are awesome, and if I didn’t already have the Cornwall I’d probably never wonder. The chorus 2 I've seen even in poorer condition is gone in the matter of an hour!!! No big deal, I win if I keep em I win if I sell. I’m super happy to keep em if no one is interested. But would seriously do a trade plus cash if anyone wants to trade chorus 1 for 2’s!

The room they're in and positioning plus equipment matching and style of music among other things will ultimately determine how the speakers are perceived by the listener then you have to add the personal taste aspect.

I've set up numerous Chorus 1's in a wide range of rooms and settings with like and unlike gear and I can tell you there can be a huge difference in how they sound or how much bass reaches the listening position.

I take great care in positioning, it took me about a couple days to approximate placement for my Cornwall, then it was wild what half inch shifts would do for the soundstage! I’d move listen for a while, change and change back. The Cornwall are king of the hill, did the same games with the chorus 1 and they lost to the Cornwall. Now I’m curious if the 2 can unseat them. If not no biggie, but want to try out of curiosity. Not super interested in the tube mods for the ports, just kinda want to know....are the chorus 2 really better than Cornwall.

Understand . Appreciate the offer but I also have a pair of chorus I's. My listen room is 17 by 11 by 8 and my 2's fill the room nicely with bass, I just like the  extra bottom end subs give me.

I will either sell these or buy 2’s and keep em, depends on how things work out, I’m rolling the dice and keeping the Cornwall either way!

I have not. I’ve heard tale, but was worried that it would introduce distortion with my level of craftsmanship, I’m no stunner in the shop.

Curious why you want ditch the sub? I have chorus II and they do have good bass but I still run mine with a sub.

For simplicity, I really have always loved a well put together simple system. My favorite system currently is a pair of Cornwall 1 with the old oil caps, a marantz pm8005 into a will Vincent

st-70. It’s perfect for me, sans sub. Would love to see if the chorus 2 could top it. My space is too small for Klipschorns. So I’ve narrowed the battle down to the Cornwall and chorus 2. If you want these I’d trade plus cash since you run a sub anyway 😜

Weren't you just chasing some Chorus II's? What are you expecting to get out of them that you cant get out of the 1's?

Beautiful speakers by the way good luck with your sale!

A little more low end. I’m hoping that the chorus 2 sound in between KLF and Cornwall. I love the mids and highs of the chorus 1 but it’s missing the last bit of bottom. They sound excellent with subs, but I want to ditch the sub. My Cornwall do it, KLF do it, and chorus 1 are so so close, but need the extra help on the very bottom.

Took a look. at some of the Will Vincent Dynaco ST 70 restorations. Out of my price range, but it seems there is no direct contact or website. Only connection is with people who resell the equipment for Will.

Here’s Will’s number, tell him Rob from Nashville sent you!

  16. I just got mine!!! I waited to respond till I listened at least an hour to let it get warmed up.I owned the Bob Latino at-70 and I have to say the Will Vincent amp bests it in every way!!! Of course our hobby is subjective so take that with a grain of salt.

First off its D-E-D quiet, like Dead quiet, like is it working quiet, that is until the first note.the bass is notably better. I used to have to use tone controls with my Cornwall but I actually was able to go source direct on my Marantz pm8004 and still have ample bass for a basshead like myself. The midrange is very good, I can’t compare because I no longer have the Bob Latino  but both models sound excellent in the midrange. The bass is good enough that I have no issue saying the Will Vincent is better because my Latino was a bit anemic I. That regard, and coupled with the noise was the reason I sold it. The treble is the same situation, loved the Bob amp and loving the WIll amp.

Knobs to bias instead of a screw or some kind of specialty tool. It also has a large meter in front to read the bias of the tubes. The overall build quality is excellent, and to be honest Will seemed as excited for me as I was excited 😂. Just an excellent overall experience buying the amp, and he was super helpful when I called to ask what tubes he recommended to roll. The amp shipped with Tung sol el34B.

The restoration is top notch with the powder coat instead of a shiny fingerprint magnet. Top notch shipping, like if I’d known how well it was packed I would have just thrown it down the stairs instead of carrying it (JK, but seriously tho too). Bass is better than my Bob Latino, and my absolute favorite part is the rca’s in the back like a civilized human would do!!!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
