Is Klipsch in danger of losing more business by driving away me and others, or by allowing the mention of things non-Klipsch?  I suggest alienating long term members is more problematic than any perceived “competition” from the mention of non-Klipsch modifications.

    Peace!

    Neil

Not minimizing anyone's comments but playing devil's advocate, I suggest the Forum owners are concerned with the information & impressions newbies, not long term members, may find when they are considering buying Klipsch speakers. Newbies log on and find thread after thread concerned with “improving” the speakers. The implicit message being “ I bought these Klipsch speakers and they don't sound good, so I need to ‘improve' them.” As a newbie, why would I drop a minimum of  $3K on a Heritage speaker than needs" improvement?" They may not grasp these are prior generation speakers that are being discussed; they are newbies.

Also, some people may have drifted away because they thought this was a Klipsch forum, not a DIY workshop. After all, if you are happy after purchasing your Klipsch speakers, why read about modifications? If there is no discussion or real world impressions of current speakers posted, how is that Klipsch’s fault? Forum members are are responsible for this information, else this is just ad copy. Why are interesting reviews and comments posted on Steve Huff’s site, Hoffman’s and several other sites rather than here? Why do we tolerate snarky and condescending posts from some long term members? My “ignore" list is much longer than my “follow" list. I suggest that may drive more members away than the inability to discuss non Klipsch crossovers....

Personally, I think PWK and Roy have done a fine job creating & updating the Heritage and pro lines. When I win the lottery, I want to find the earliest set of ‘horns available and restore them to original spec so I can hear what started all this.

But at the end of the say, is this truly a life altering issue or just one more slightly annoying change in the world?

Although Blaze of Glory was a modest seller, the resultant single "Nineteen Forever" reached No. 4 in the US Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. Jackson felt the album was one of his best efforts and toured to perform and support it with an eleven piece band in the U.S. and Europe from June to November 1989, and was disappointed with both the critical and commercial reaction as well as his record label's lack of support.

All I can say ..it´s a great album from him !

IMHO, Joe never received the recognition he deserved for his abilities. On my play list regularly.

The Cary SLI-80 looks really good, going to dig into it …..putting the Elekit together might be above my pay grade…

If you want to try a single ended amp with no assembly required, the Willsenton R300 Tube Amplifier uses 300B tubes. It received a very good review from Steve Huff on his Heritage speakers. It runs about $1500 on Amazon with free shipping (a big deal). And if your don't like you send it back. That’s pretty much a win-win.

  4. Oh; the image is also on five Facebook marketplaces for $5000. Come ‘on, somebody bite. On the other hand,  I have a deed to a bridge connecting several boroughs in New York that generates positive cash flow. Who wants a 1/64 interest for $1000?

Seems to me posting these scams is not a good idea. Does anyone on the Forum actually think you can get a set of ‘horns in December 2022 for $900 plus $19 shipping?

    Quit helping these scammers.

It is not worth the effort to get a few hundred more dollars if you do them correctly.

Sure it is; his first sentence says he “moving on” from them and his third sentence says “before I sell.”.  His subsequent post confirms it. The OP's issue is maximizing return, not restoration or giving a bargain to the next owner. No offense, but his post clearly says these are not his forever speakers.

I worked at GM/Delco engineering West Henrietta NY

Not a stock auto in the parking lot. 😀

Its the same at the GM plant here. You’d think you were on Gratiot Ave. Not so much at the Nissan plant.

I'm sure the engineers at the major auto manufacturers don't appreciate people putting on loud exhaust pipes, intakes, fancy lights, and whatnot on their vehicles, but people still do it.

From the Eddie Current website’s FAQ:

Will you service an Eddie Current amp that was modified by Maestro-Modders?

Modifying your Eddie Current amp will not only immediately and permanently void the warranty, but also ensure that we will never touch your amp ever again. Trying to figure what other people may have done is a pain in the ***.

What is so special now is we can now buy the capacitors the sound engineers at Klipsch are using in their Heritage line... Sure they are more expensive than a Mylar cap from another source but there is a lot of R&D time spend by Klipsch choosing the caps they now use. Any original part from a manufacturer is going to cost more than an aftermarket part.

Agreed. As a friend once told me: Different is not the same.

That’s me: SM East, Rockhurst (when it was a college) and then KU. 135th was where we went to Jess & Jims, to the State Lone Drive-In and took flying lessons at the airport. Nothing but your cows in any direction for miles.

Sick, but not dead. Just another internet hoax demonstrating not everything on the web is true or accurate or both.

  15. I sold the pre that used these leaving my ribbed plate Teles installed, so I am selling this matched pair of Telefunken ECC83/12AX7s smooth plates which I purchased from the Captain. I never used or installed them. One has intact lettering the other is smudged off, not an uncommon event. Please email any questions.

    Thanks.
