  1. yep make sure where the problem is. Check to see it is not the amp.
  2. Got to 105` then ...it rained. I'm sitting in the living room. Wife asks, "What direction is the rain coming from?" ... "Ummmm ..... from 'up" The question isn't a dumb one. We don't have A/C. I think the new term is "passive solar"...Open and close windows at appropriate times. I have several squirrel cage blowers. Forced air might be in our future. With our weather, it will get use in the winter, too. Push warm from outside to in.
  3. in these digital times... can digital medium give an accurate presentation of a frequency that is an irrational number ... like pi 10 or 100X? No? just asking.... I know... this is the difference and why analog is better than digital
  4. I had want to turn some music on at 5AM ....in a rare moment of restraint, I did not that is a little early. but, I've had MY coffee
  5. I'm not to sharp with electronics.... but, my troubleshooting starts with 1] Is it plugged in? ... 2] Is it turned on?
  6. save ya from putting them in the compost and then spreading them back on the lawn
  7. ... which is one good reason to leave a cup of day old coffee for me to drink when I get up. I won't have the patience to make fresh w/o it
  8. pissing off someone "before their morning coffee" is a very short putt
  9. been outside... done my chores at least that's what the wife thinks...."chores" LOL I prowl through the garden and make sure the cat's water is fresh. Getting to where I need to "suit up". Mozzies. They won't last long. Things will dry up. ... side note if, when, you are swatting at mosquitoes barehanded... your hands being wet dramatically increases the kill ratio. Their wings catch on the water ...
  10. there is a lot more truth than joke there
  11. Kinda cool this AM.... High 50's ... signifying an end to this year's monsoon. Was a lean year. We didn't get more than 3 inches, if that much. Normally, 6 to 8 inches between July and Oct. I didn't have to cut weeds or mow the grass. The big rain missed us. We got a sniff of what hit CA and NV
  12. I think this is what I'm seeing expand to see my answers
  13. .... random association. Working at the bowling alley, we would need to remove/replace CPUs in the scoring consoles. We needed to address them..... there was some choice cursewordage in my address to the thing. Actually ... there was a series of DIP switches that needed to be set...
  14. she has been using this dock for some time. The monitor she was using got broken and we are trying to make this one work. If there is software in the dock, it may not recognize this monitor?
  15. The dock has a VGA out. Monitor has VGA in. Easy right... not for me The monitor runs fine by using HDMI to HDMI ... straight from the laptop to monitor. Wife sez she has a brand new monitor coming soon ... rendering all of this as a learning experience for me. I'll remember the cable ends names now.
  16. This is interesting ... the manager of the ranch, where boy works, is sending him to school.... and paying him, too. No, not to learn Spanish... I think boy is the only "hand" that speaks English as a first language. Boy can go to school on GI bill, but, the ranch will pay anyway. I suppose he is going to learn the business side of things... IDK. Pretty cool though.
  17. nope... not one of those on the dock. It appears to have ethernet and usb. The monitor has 2 HDMI and a VGA Can't post pics. I lost the dongle for my camera and don't know how to use the cam on this machine
  18. this is what a football coach looks like, to me. Uncomfortable in a suit. Forget the tie. Don't know if he can make UAZ win... like UAZ has ever had a good football team.
  19. A VGA to HDMI will work. I don't know what DVI is. Is that the one that looks like an HDMI with a square side, as opposed to both sides slanted? No input on the monitor for that. .... about the time I get this worked out, the IT tech [from wife's school] will give her a different monitor
  20. the monitor has VGA[DVI?] and HDMI inputs. Docking station has 6 outputs... but no HDMI. The VGA input, on the monitor, doesn't seem to make connection.
  21. after the pic of beverage/s ... I thought the last pic was of the bar you are [n't] building LOL ---------------- not a big fan of football but, the U AZ football coach looks good. Almost stereotypical football coach. They're gonna get their butts kicked next year ... in the Big 23. Not many left in the PAC 5.
  22. I've been up since 4. Coffee is fresh, but, now cold. been wrestling with trying to get the VGA cable to my wife's monitor working. It runs off]on the HDMI OK... I would like to get the VGA up, though. She has a "docking station" for her laptop ... and it has VGA connectors.
  23. when my grandmother passed gas, it was announced with "Oh Jesus ... that was a good one!" ------------------------- Fresh coffee already. Trying to figure out what /where I'm doing. Cat dragged a short-tailed "rat" in, this AM. I think it was a vole. IDK. It got tossed back out. I'll call it cat food. The Kiwano melon plants are growing... They can get a little wild. `The vines look like prehistoric cucumbers. They grow vigorously here. I should be able to sell a few. retail is $6ea and they are 1/2lb. It would take some marketing to get that. Promote them as the new superfood...lol
