I NEED A PREAMP TO COMPLIMENT THIS BABIES
Radiohead replied to RAPTORMAN's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Mark, I'm a bit late uncovering the info on your two offerings but how would I go about picking up a Peach or a Blueberry? What is the forum price for these two units? Your website looks great BTW. Ryan I'll PM you this as well in case it's missed here. -
Let the bidding war begin.

Shipping is only $5 so factor that in.

This E-bay Auction is a Hoot..................

Yes but that pair you reference is already back on eBay again. The buyer must not be able to read well. -
Klipschorns - Rosewood Lacquer For Sale
Radiohead replied to gullahisland's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Good question Dean. I've never understood which are the best networks. Oddly enough I think "weird" is one of the few words where "I before E except after C" does not work. -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=61378&item=5701562521&rd=1 The wood isn't in the best shape but that cloth is pretty cool if you ask me.

I might be stupid...but is way too much......
Radiohead replied to tcb's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
While they did end at a price which I personally feel is a bit too much they are 1) being sold by a seller with excellent feedback and 2) they are Rosewood which is about the rarest wood Klipsch speakers were made from. -
Seriously Smilin, here they are!

John, I just wanted to let you know that I've decided not to pursue these speakers so happy hunting to you. I never did bid on them and will not be doing so as the price has skyrocketed in to Khorn territory. -

I think I may be bidding on these as well. They sure are a beautiful pair of speakers. -
Type 'A' DIY crossover question
Radiohead replied to Erik Mandaville's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Erik, I believe I have read here in the past that you also live in the Houston area. Is that correct? If so, would you be interested in making a little money and helping a fellow Klipsch board member by constructing me a pair of A networks? I would be more than willing to pay you a fee along with the cost of the materials of course. I have been pondering the idea of getting some ALK's for quite some time now but would love to try out a DIY option. Let me know if this interests you at all. PM or email me and we can chat more about it. Thanks, Ryan -
How does one go about ordering a pair of new Klipschorns? I'm considering buying another pair, making the 75's my rear's, and shooting for a Khorn HT kind of thing. What kind of wait is typically associated with ordering them? Months...years?

a pair of klipschorns walnut for sale
Radiohead replied to jazzmansound's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
So these are PWK autographed Klipschorns? I don't see anything about that in the seller's description. -
They are indeed very beautiful speakers but they're a bit overpriced IMO. $4,000 is pushing it and the BIN price is a laugh. For that kind of money you could have a nice set of Khorns and some damn good gear.
-
Someone in the area should pick these up. Their condition looks really good. It also looks like the price will end up in a very good region although you can never tell with the one's that are no reserve.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3063060542&category=14993 I can't recall having seen these networks before. Are these the type A's?
-
Can anyone, Trey perhaps, assure the authenticity of these signatures? They look like they could have been added on by the seller.

Klipschorns! Klipschorns! Klipschorns! Ours!
Radiohead replied to Erik Mandaville's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Erik, Congrats. I remember that day all too well. So what year did they end up being? Pictures? -
Can anyone tell me what year these Cornwalls were made?
Radiohead replied to Radiohead's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Jeff, I sure did. I looked at it as you quoting my post and adding in the oil walnut part. I feel like an idiot now. Thanks for your help. -
Can anyone tell me what year these Cornwalls were made?
Radiohead replied to Radiohead's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Thanks Jeff but I knew that CWO meant they were oiled walnut finish. So after interpreting that link I believe the first pair are 78's and the second pair are 84's. Does anyone know if one of these years is better than the other? I believe the 78's had the Alnico components but I'm not too sure about the 84's. -
Gary is right as well. How could I possibly forget about vinyl? Having not had my collection now for over a year, being in storage in Georgia, it slipped my mind that the pre would definitely be needed for this application. If you don't have the cash to drop on a C20(best phono pre that McIntosh made) or C22 then the MX-110 can be had for a very fair price and comes quite close to what you would get from the other two in terms of sound quality. Aside from that it already has a tuner built in which is a nice feature to have at times. Like asked above...what kind of ballpark are you working with monetarily wise?

Moondogs stay! Sit! good boys...
Radiohead replied to Erik Mandaville's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Erik, Don't you live somewhere in Houston? I'm up north in the Woodlands. I may be interested in your Horus amps. Can you send me some pics via email? What year are those Khorns listed in the Chronicle that you started the thread about? Did you wind up getting those yet? I thought about calling the number and purchasing them until I saw your post here on the forum. Four would have been nice for a good HT system but I don't have the room right now and I would rather see a fellow local Klipsch fan pick up their first pair. Do you by chance have the tools necessary to check the speakers components to make sure they are up to par and don't need replacing...like the tweeters for instance? I have still yet to do this to my 75's since they sound great as is; however, I would like to do a thorough check on them in the future. Ryan -
With the right tubes(KT-66's in place of the stock 6L6's) the MC240 is well worth the extra money. You really don't need a preamp either like claimed above. I had my 240 a few months before I bought my C22 and just used the twin amp setting with the Rega plugged directly in to it the whole time. The music was more than adequate for my ears. I haven't personally heard a 299 but the MC240 made me put my Eico away. It's been under my bed collecting dust for over a year now. I think I need to get it refurbished and see exactly what it can do.
