  1. Thanks everyone for your feedback so far. I did end up getting the SS kit, but it’s still in the box and will definitely research the tear repair info anyways. Seriously considering building a larger version of Heresey risers for these once I find out what the dimensions are for them.
  2. Hello i just picked these up recently, not the most perfect shape but I’m planning to touch up the cabinets and probably do the simply speakers recone kit on the KD16 passive radiators. I know there are a few chips on the edges but plan to do a light sand to clean up the finish. What could I use for a light stain to replicate the original oak? Also, I cannot find any factory risers, so I bought some feet to get them off the ground at least. thanks in advance for your replies.

Thanks for the feedback @Dave A after all this time, sounds like the simply speakers route is the way to go.

@Dave A how did this work out? Were you able to get the weight exactly where it was on the original cone? To all, I just got a quote from Klipsch on the KD-16 model passive and they are 149.99 each 😯 That’s too much. I sent another Email asking if they had any KD-15 left but I doubt it. Anyone I have asked advice about the simply speaker kit say to make sure the weight is exactly in the same place.
  5. Hello, I pulled these out of storage the other day and it totally slipped my mind that I don’t have the risers for these. Since I don’t see any out there on ebay, does anyone have any suggestions for sturdy feet to screw to the bottom using the same hole the risers screwed down to? i did see someone mention these from parts express way back but looking for other suggestions too. I plan on cleaning the bottom finish as well so I don’t want to scratch them up any more. https://www.parts-express.com/penn-elcom-9120-rubber-cabinet-foot-088-dia-x-031-h--260-7706 thanks in advance
  6. thanks @EpicKlipschFan Looks like I'm getting GG at lunch!
  7. I'll definitely do all seams now for sure.
  8. @Alexander Thanks for the quick reply. So if I take the drivers out, I should be able to see that loose area from inside when looking at the Glue joint on the back panel? Would this tightbond glue work?
  9. New owner of CF3's version 3 it looks like SN# 279590115 and 279590110. From the pic included, 110 has a rattle on the back when the bass hits. I know, from reading this is common it seems. When I put the smallest pressure on the back panel it stops. My other speaker is fine, but how do I get the back panel off? Or is everything accessed through the woofer holes? I know the proper way is to install bracing but just wondering if there is something smaller that would work since it takes such as light pressure to make it stop on that one box. Love these things,, and heavy.
