  1. Hello all, You can view the history of these speakers in my restoration thread. Replacement diaphragm, sanded, braced, damped and painted. Located 60511 Asking $225 Audition at time of purchase (I will provide the bourbon!)
  2. Here is another resource for replacement diaphragms as well... (The speaker exchange) https://reconingspeakers.com/products-page/aftermarket-klipsch-diaphragm-replacement-127103/
  3. If you don't like the Ti diaphrams ( I didn't when I put them in my KLF 20's) simply speakers has a nice set that's easier on the ears for $20 and if you buy it from their ebay store they are usually $19 each with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/114931807079?hash=item1ac2783367:g:OSAAAOSwV1BhFFKE&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwBwtcPz9UFhIRoIbVPArgk2aTiUhzll1RlPPIvK%2Fly5ewSHJNaGEaQK3ZJsF7CgCn8DPZbjZUhupzqz6jIlcdoVauj30DEKohR14L3XTkJ29aZwx1bIBSATuj9KTbpbvxmYUK123RWywHoVMdVyOvBgVfSUAp4TfW0hSlB6bmkiV41P6xsQk0ublazLSVpKwXSoywT1Yqs%2BiAAuGHecmW%2BEK3mUIKwkgMrvPHtP2%2BZGO6vYa7m4qrqjnCYPkP6beBw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7yv-oeEYg
  4. They were listed locally for a long time and apparently I felt the need to rescue them. I bought them for $150, threw a new diaphragm in them, sanded, routed, added some internal bracing, damping and a little paint. (Wow! Paint has really increased in price!!!) So, I think I did an okay job of bringing these back to life again and they can bring happiness to someone for many years to come. I listed them locally for $250. If anyone one the forum is interested, let me know and I'll give you a better price.
  5. Finally got around to getting some paint on these bad boys...
  6. Hello all, New, in the box. I planned on building two subs for my home theater. Home theater turned into a playroom after remodel, so these are up for sale. (Oh the things we will do for our kids!) These are 100% new, never used. I will open the boxes and demo at time of purchase to verify that these are brand new and function as such. (Going for about $800 with taxes and shipping) Tons of very positive review at parts express. https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-UM18-22-18-Ultimax-DVC-Subwoofer-2-ohms-Per-Co-295-518?quantity=1 Asking $600 for the pair. Location 60511 Big Rock, far Western Burb of Chicago
  7. Sold for $800 to a nice guy who is packing the Klipsch RP's and the rest of his belongings in a shipping container and moving back to India.
  8. I'm selling these for my brother. He is moving from Illinois to Missouri and needs to downsize. He has 2 pairs of these, and is selling the pair pictured. His description: Zu Audio Omen DW in Rustic Hickory (now a $300 upgrade) Purchased in 2020, these are my second pair (main pair is used daily) that have sat in a spare bedroom with minimal use for the past few years. I have the factory boxes and all the included accessories. I wanted to take these off of his hands, as they have much nicer upper mid range and treble reproduction than my RF-7 II's, however, they don't have grills and that doesn't work with my 4 and 6 year old who want to put playdoh and glitter on my nice things! Let me know if you have any questions Location: Big Rock 60511 Price $1,200 Pick up only
  9. I find it sad that only a small amount of people are still demanding quality over convenience. Most of your streaming video services like Netflix, Prime, etc are selling you terrible quality! Sure, they said 1080 or 4K, but most of the time it's not even close...and the audio is terrible! Just like the cd vs mp3 battle. What younger person is still demanding cd quality? They are all running around with mp3's on their phone or using bluetooth to stream music to a little device on the counter!
  10. I set this picture up a long time ago to do a parody of many of the adds on the sales apps like CL, offerup, marketplace, etc. The funny thing is that this and another tweeter were in a semi-nice group of speakers (4 towers and a center) that the guy swore were in perfect condition. Withing 2 seconds of him putting on music to demo I could tell that something was way off! 2 out of the 5 tweeters were toast! How can you not tell that? At least he was not one of those guys that swears everything works and only meets you at a public place were he can't verify that everything works. He did make it right and knock off a little $ once I showed him what was wrong. Tweeter For Sale- Used only twice! Has been in storage for the last several years. It worked the last time I used it. I have no way to test it. Selling for a friend! Excellent condition!
  11. I usually don't do this, but I added damping material to the back of the horn. Some people swear up and down that they can hear a difference! (I'm guessing the same people that pay $1,000's of dollars for speaker cables, pucks to keep them off the floor, etc.) The only difference I hear is when I tap on the horn when it's not playing. It has a quicker decay. When the music is actually playing, I can't hear any difference. (Yes, I did an A/B comparison when I had multiple sets of these.) I thought I would post pics so that people can see what I did and what material I used.
  12. I added some swag to the braces. If you're interested, I can design and laser engrave wood, leather, poly, glass, etc. and send it out to you!
  13. Those are freshly sanded. Nothing added. (The Sparkle is just there as I cleaned my windshield with it) Of all the pairs of speakers I've refinished, these have been the most mismatched I've stumbled across.
  14. You have to really inspect what the veneer looks like before you think it will turn out beautiful. For example, when I bough this used pair of KG 4.2's, I new they needed a sanding as the veneer had some pretty deep scratches. Also, I knew with a pretty decent degree of certainty, that these would not be a great candidate for anything other than a paint job again because the veneers were so different. Most of the time speaker companies pair the the mismatched veneer speakers and those are the ones that end up being painted black, etc. However, it's such a great feeling when you remove the black and expose some beautiful wood... making you think why in the world would anyone ever paint it black?!?!
  15. Most of the time it's the amplifiers that go out with Klipsch subwoofers. If you're sure the speaker needs to be replaced, I have had good luck with these from Parts Express. https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-RSS390HF-4-15-Reference-Series-HF-Subwoofer-4-Ohm-295-468?quantity=1
