  1. If big cables are your thing, here you go! 10' long and functions correctly. Shows typical ware. Please look at pictures for the condition. Will audition at time of purchase. I looked up what they are going for and listed them for roughly half that amount. Asking $225 Location 60511 Chicago western burb.
  2. Yes, I agree. For a relatively compact sub, it punched way above it's size in sound quality and output. I wish they would either source better imported amps or have them built by a decent manufacturer in the US. I would gladly pay an extra $100 for a sub that will last 30 years.... like the 4 Velodyne subs I used in my home theater. However, I understand that to stay competitive with other comparable subwoofers, the bean counters have to shave off every penny. If no one shows any interest, I might just convert it into a passive sub.
  3. Hello all, I'm parting out my Klipsch RT-10D sub that suffered the typical amplifier failure! If anyone is interested, shoot me a message. The 3 grills are in excellent shape. The active 10" driver is in excellent condition. The 2 passive radiators are in excellent condition, however, one has a small discoloration spot. It came that way when it was new! The cabinet is in good condition, with several small indentations on the top of one of the corners. The amp doesn't turn on anymore. I don't want to go though the hassle of getting it repaired. I will demo the active driver to verify that it works perfectly. Local pick up only if you want the entire sub. I would be willing to ship the grills, drivers or the amplifier section. Located 60511 far western burbs of Chicago right off I-88. There's not a lot of these for sale for reference on pricing. The active driver alone is on eBay for over $200 w shipping, so I'm just going to go with $300 takes the entire sub and if you want specific parts, shoot me a message.
  4. Going to place an order and seeing if anyone has a valid code for discounts.
  5. Hello all, These were my fronts in my home theater until my 4 and 6 year old daughters bought me new speakers for Christmas. These are in great shape... there are some light surface marks on one side of one of the speakers (seen in pics) I always had this pointing towards the wall and never saw it the entire time I owned these. All cabinet corners are in perfect condition. The drivers are in perfect shape with no dents, dings or messed up cones. The grills are in perfect shape as well with no rips, snags or nasty dust. These were always used with subwoofers, so they never saw any real low end action! I am the second owner (the scratches were the previous owners addition!) Feel free to ask any questions. Audition welcomed at time of purchase to verify that everything functions correctly. Bring your music and I'll provide the bourbon! Asking $450 for forum members (They are listed locally for $480) Located in Western burbs of Chicago near i-88/route 47 and route 30 Zip: 60511
  6. I would hold out to see if you can find another one. If you can't find another one in a reasonable time frame, resell it to someone who will be happy to buy it. The economy isn't headed anywhere wonderful, and I see a lot of people starting to dump nicer speakers/electronics, or at least they are thinning the herd. You know, they are wanting to put food on the table for their families and all... Additional thought... If you're not comfortable with woodworking, hire someone to build you a cabinet. Then you can just be on the lookout for the 2 drivers.
  7. Excellent condition Mirage OM7 tower speakers. All drivers function correctly and are in excellent condition with no damage. Grills are in very good condition. Cabinets are in excellent condition with the bare wood. You can leave as is or paint/stain to your liking. I removed the cheesy plastic coating that was starting to crack. These sound great! There are plenty of reviews online. I also have the matching center and surrounds for this system if you are interested in purchasing those for a great package deal. Audition at time of purchase to make sure everything functions to your liking. I am an audio enthusiast, so I don't sell anything that I wouldn't feel comfortable buying myself. local pick up only located in far western suburbs of Chicago 60511 Asking $375 for forum members
  8. Almost like putting a bumper sticker on a nice car!
  9. Yes they are! I think I'm going back to this one and then either selling or placing my outlaw audio 976 on my 2.2 stereo system as I don't need a remote for that one. If they stop handing out pay cuts for me as a teacher, maybe I'll be able to afford a nice used 7.2 4K processor in the next couple-o-years when everyone is going on to the next and latest format.
  10. For all of you cable guys out there, here is a chance to grab a pair of 10 foot speakers cables for $50 for forum members. Located in Chicago Burbs. 60511 I prefer a local sale, but I will ship, as I'm guessing carriers would have to work extra hard to destroy these! $50 local $70 shipped
  11. I'm guessing no. I have been on offerup for about a year and I see people post nicer quality speakers all of the time. They don't actually own them, they just use it as a way for you to look at the other stuff they have for sale. In addition, they know the speaker is worth much more. So they list it for, let's say $800 to drum up interrest. Then, when you contact them they say, "Well, I already have an offer for $1,200, can you beat that?" My response is always, "There's a place called eBay that already functions like that!" and I immediately block them as I have no time in my life for idiots and scammers! The old saying is almost always correct, "If it looks too good to be true..."
  12. I'm onespeaker short...can I still chime in? A little background: I have a temporary home theaters set-up jammed into a less than ideal space, as my regular one turned into a play area for my two daughters. I know.... priorities right??? I have two RF-82 II's as my front with an RC-7 in the center. For surrounds I an using four RF-62's. I am actually using the RF-62's as surrounds only because there is no decent area to mount my RS-62 II's It's less than ideal, but it's only temporary...I hope! The sound is decent, but the RF-62's are way overkill. All surround content can be handled by decent small surround speakers with at least a 5 1/4" driver handling the "low" end. I never understood why people are using KLF 20's, Cornwalls, etc for surround duty. I can see if you're trying to fill a 2000 sq.ft. home theater, but anything other than that it's a waste of speaker and space. (I think your 15" Cornwall woofer will feel neglected and lonely!!!) I know people swear by having all of the same speakers, or at least the same tweeters and justify it by claiming that everything is timber matched. I have tried it both ways and my ears cannot tell a significant audible difference if I use all of the same for surround, or two and two for back and side surround. I think this is personal preference as well, and maybe a little bit of the placebo effect going on.... if you think you have all matched speakers then you will think it sounds better. Just like speaker cables.... If I spend money on these super expensive cables, I must hear a difference...right?
  13. MIRAGE OM-R2HB-1 surround speakers and MIRAGE CM-3-1center channel speaker. Speakers are in great condition for their age. All drivers function perfectly with no pushed in tweeters or dust caps. Grills are in excellent condition with no holes or snags. This set sounds great! I purchased the entire Mirage home theater system, but I really only wanted to audition the OM 7's, so the surrounds and center are for sale. (The OM7's might be fore sale too if they don't beat out any of my current speakers!) Audition at time of purchase to verify that everything works correctly and to your liking. I am a stereo enthusiast, so I don't sell anything that I wouldn't feel comfortable buying myself. I am asking $200 for the center and surrounds. ($50 discount for forum members as I just listed these on CL for $250)These are currently selling for very close to $400 for the sets on eBay. As I'm sure most of you know, Mirage is now owned by Klipsch. Local pick up in 60511 far Western burb of Chicago Price $200
