  7. Ok so I have been to the hobby/craft shop. It was a zoo. I did however find some velvet and some acid free flexable adheasive. I have removed the old velvet and cleaned up the tube with some rubbing alcohol. Then I used a small paint brush a (#3 I think) to apply the glue evenly and set the thin strips ov velvet in place. I will have to let the glue cure for some time than I can give it a try on some 50 cent records. I will keep you posted.
  8. You should be ok for quite a few records. I got about 100 records cleaned (give or take a few)before the pad looked beat. I pre cleaned the records with an orbitrac 2 record cleaner first. Make sure you follow the instructions to a T or you will have problems right away. Also adding 25% isopropyl alcohol Will greatly improve the results over just the stright VPI fluid. I will post anything I find at the craft shop.
  9. Hi all I recently purchased a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine. It works great but the cost of replacement pickup tubes is 26.00. Outrageous! You should just be able to replace the velvet strips on the pick up tube at a much lower cost. Has any one found a sorce or have any ideas where one might find some velvet with an adhesive backing that would be suitable for replaceing the worn pads. I will go to the local hobby/craft shops and see if I can't dig something up. Man my piggy bank is bleeding.
  10. Hi Ganja I have the rb-35s and think they are quite nice. Not hot up top at all. If you listen to cd thru a dvd player they MIGHT sound a bit tinny or bright.
  11. No the jolida has plenty of juice for sure nothin worng with it just jooking for a change.
  12. Hi Everyone I am thinking of tring something new amp wise. I currently use a jolida 302b and listen mostly to rock ,blues and jazz on vinyl. I like the jolida just itching for something new mabey a ss amp but then would also need a pre amp. Price range of 1500.00 new or used.
  13. Ok I have been looking for around for a high pass filter and with not to much luck. What do you think about an EQ with a high pass filter between the phono stage and amp? Or where could I get a high pass filter?
  14. Thanks to all. I put the turntable on a wall mounted rack and WOW it cleaned it up. Much cleaner sound and no more tiptoeing around. I can now fully appreciate what this very fine table can do. I did notice the record that gave me some trouble was not perfectly flat I am sure that made it worse. By the time it got tward the third track the woofer flutter was not even close to what it was on the first track. Thanks again.
  15. Yes Target wall mount stands are still made I am gona give this a shot. What are you using to dampen it further with? I was also told that some woofer movement is normal with records in comparison to say cd because of subsonic frequencies. Is this true?
  16. Thanks That I can try today.
  17. Where could I get a sub sonic filter?
  18. Thanks for the feedback. I will have to investigate both of your ideas. It is frustrating but I am glad I found the problem.
  19. I just recently picked up a turntable. I was listening to a record and noticed the speaker was vibrating a bit more than usual. I inquired at the local audio shop bout what this could be. I was informed that it was low distortion feedback. The louder I play it the more the woofers go nuts. It is fine with cd however. How do you guys fix this problem? I live on the third floor and its a suspended floor and could use a better rack. Any short term ideas short of a heavy duty rack or concerate floor?
  20. Lots of luck with all that for 1200.00 . You could go used and get something decent. Think rega p3, grado ph1 for under a grand and still have a few hundred for a cartridge. What ever you do you will be opening a can of worms. I just picked up a roksan radius 5 and fell in love I wanted to spend about 1500 and it ended up about being about twice that.
  21. Let us know what you think of them. Then let me know when your going to sell them.
  22. Yea have read about some mods to this unit but its all greek to me. I do not know any one who has this unit in a modified form. How much diffrence would it make is it worth the $ ? I live in the chicagoland area does anyone know in the area who could preform the mods? I would like the amp to be a bit quiter. I like the sound I was just thinking of upgrading in the future.
  23. Well I dont yet have a replacement and not sure what I will replace it with. Some thing new and pretty I am sure. I am selling it to get a turntable (rega p25)and phono preamp. I will be useing my a/v reciver (marantz sr7200)while I save. I have been thinking about the 2000-3000 price range and would like to go intigrated. any ideas. If I dont get any offers hear I may keep it for a while longer.I am sure I could get a bit more on e-bay but I though I would let some one hear get a good deal. I think I could get 650.00 or more out of e-bay I have not seen a 302b on there in a while. Anyway thanks Joel
