  1. And rocky said, doc its only a scratch And Ill be better, Ill be better doc as soon as I am able
  2. Ok guys, I need your help. My HT includes the RF-3II, RC-3 and 4 RS-3 in a 7.1 setup. I would like to upgrade everything to the RF-7 package but that is pretty well out of my reach. My question is: Would I benefit if I buy a pair of RF-5's for my mains and send my current RF-3II's for surround duty? Since I live in mexico, prices here go "ALOT" more higher than in the U.S. and I don't want to risk buying speakers in the states and importing to mexico so the RF-7's are out of the question, I can get a decent price on the RF-5's. Your thoughts? Thanks, Jose.
  3. Bill, I appreciate your suggestions on the subwoofer issue, I am more inclined to go the RSW-12 or 15 route since my preferences go about 50% music and 50% movies....The RF7's are little father down the road for me but I have them in my sight. As far as taking the time to get to know the 54TX I couldn't agree with you more on this, as far as receivers I have owned in the past (yamaha & H/K) this one is a more complex unit. I ran the MCACC and the results just amazed me, I want to get to the point where I can tweak it manually but right now I am more than satisfied.
  4. Regarding the bass on the Elite, I mentioned the bass with my subwoofer....I forgot to mention that without the sub I do like the bass that the elite is delivering....keep in mind that the RF3II's aren't that bass heavy in the first place...nothing compared to say the RF7's from what I have read but the elite holds it's own.
  5. I just received my Pioneer ELite this past friday and I'm only now beginning to get more into the details of it. I can say this, regarding the initial setup the MCACC is truly something extraordinary, the way is goes about calibrating your speakers really impressed me. This is my first ELite but I did alot checking on the different forums and I do agree with the general opinion on how the MCACC functions. There is an "expert" mode in which you can, amongst other adjustments, manually adjust the 5 band graphic equalizer for each channel (I just went into the setup mode and verified this). As far as the bass goes I like the bass I am getting from the yammy subwoofer, I must admitt that it isn't anything out of this world but I can only imagine how much better my bass can be by getting a much better subwoofer. I feel that you most defintely would have to audition one for yourself. I can't say that I dislike anything on the Elite since I'm still on a learning with it but I am very happy with what I have seen/heard up to now. I will keep on "playing with it" during the coming days and will post my impressions here. I how hope I shed some light.
  6. Don't what happened with photo # in my orginal post but here it goes.
  7. Good afternoon to all: I haven't posted in the forum for quite awhile but I have been reading the many interesting posts in the different threads. I just wanted to ask your opinion as to what you guys you think of my current home theater setup, lastest addition to it is the Pioneer ELite VSX-54TX which has just replaced an H/K 520 which served very well. Next upgrade is the subwoofer, I want to change the Yammy for a SVS or RSW-12, not sure yet which way to go on this one. I will appreciate any comments. I don't know how to upload multiple photos so I will go one by one, here's the first one. Thanks guys.
  8. Same here with OneCall. Bought my H/K 520 from them this past february, everything hassle free, good customer service. I'd buy again from them. My 2 cents.
  9. Lance, As others have said, you won't be disappointed with the H/K 525 especially when combined with klipsch. I have the 520 and I am more then happy with it. H/K & klipsch complement each in a formidable way. If your desicion has been narrowed down to the options you have mentioned in your post then go for the H/K, but then again that is my opinion. The final call is yours and more so that of your ears, that's the fun part. Take care.
  10. Here in mexico we have both region 1 (USA and Canada) and region 4 (latin america). When the region 4 discs started to come out I noticed that there were differences in the additional features that are included in the dvd's. Most recent discs are almost identical in terms of content compared to the region 1. Packaging also differs. A couple of weeks back I bought the "Back to the Future" trilogy in region 4, the store where I bought it had the region 1 set playing on a big screen TV and I looked a the menus and they were the same as the region 4. Another observation, region 4 since it destined for use in latin america, basically has english, spanish, and portuagese. Region 1 has english and french and most recent titles are now including spanish.
  11. My receiver is in a wooden "tower type" rack, it has 1/2" free space on both sides and 8" plus on the top, the back of the rack is at least 1 1/2 feet from the back wall. Do you think this is sufficient space for the air flow ? I have noticed that it runs much warmer/hotter (even at moderate levels) then my previous yamaha.
  12. It hasn't been long since I bought my H/K 520 (end of january) and it has turned off by itself on two different occasions, the most recent being a few minutes ago while watching SHREK. My output level was @ -20db, mains set to large, the rest to small, sub being sent to both mains & subwoofer. When I was "shopping around" prior to my decision on purchasing the H/K 520 I remember reading some posts on other forums (don't remember which) in which a similar question was raised, unfortunately as I said I can't remember in which forums. At the time, I didn't take the issue serious enough for it to chnage my final decision on my purchase. I have seen a couple of members (m00n, orange peel) who have the same unit; have you guys had this experience before ? Any other owners of this receiver have any comments ?
