  1. Do you want me to be honest or shall I blow blue smoke at you? The RF7s are terrific speakers, no doubt -- I have four of them: two as my mains and a matching pair for my surrounds. However, the honest answer is: you ain't heard nothing till you hear a pair of LaScalas...and yes, I have a pair of those as well. Hope you enjoy your sounds!
  2. And here's a picture of the new RF-7 mains in place of the LaScalas...(see other posting of new surrounds)
  3. Here's a view of the new RF-7 surrounds in place.
  4. Wow, what a system YOU have!!! Holy Smokes!
  5. Thanks for the info! Yes, the sofa is away from the wall, she doesn't like the stuff hanging up there...see attached photo below.
  6. Thanks for the nice compliment...but the color is acutally "PLUM" -- our decorator choose it. I wasn't too sure about her "devine inspiration" at first, I really like the way it feels now. The LaScalas are hidden in another room for now and the new setup with RF-7s looks a lot better! I'll try to remeber to take a new photo and post it for you. Robb
  7. Really great responses from everyone, thanks! I still have the LaScalas and may just keep them for a condo in South Florida...but if someone makes me an offer I can't refuse...well, you can ask, right? Thanks again! Robb
  8. Well, I did it...I bought four new RF-7s to replace my La Scalas and RS-7s which I now need to sell. Anyone interested in MINT speakers of the highest calibre? (Let me know and I'll send you pics) The new sound and effects are simply superb, all matched, blended, and very smooth top to bottom....WOW! Thanks for the advice that helped me pull the trigger...it's only money!
  9. GREAT ADVICE, thank you! It's really ironic, but I originally started out looking at the Heresy IIs as my surrounds for use with the LaScalas but I wound up getting the RS-7s instead -- they were just easier to mount on the wall. The new house poses a different set of problems (wife inflicted, of course) and insofar as my son is an Audio Engineer, he was the one who said replace the mains and the surrounds with the four RF-7s for the 'perfect' blend. I'm leaning that way, but I have had the LaScalas since 1986 and am emotionally attached to their powerful sound. Thanks again for your good thoughts...is there anyone else who cares to offer comments or suggestions?
  10. We recently bought a new house and my wife is not at all happy about hanging two white RS-7s and an RC-7 on the wall behind the sofa. Luckily, she will go for the idea of using a pair of RF-7s (floorstanders) as rear surrounds. The advice I need is: Will the RF-7s be a good match for the LaScalas I currently use as front mains? Secondly, would anyone suggest I just go for four RF-7s and replace the LaScalas and the RS-7s altogether? Thanks in advance! Robb
  11. You are absolutely correct RE: Standing in the Shadows of Motown...and Joan Osborne is hotter than July on this DVD; the whole flick is simply wonderful. The DTS audio is superb! Really kind of amazing to me that such a great story, a terrific DVD, and some of the best tunes in recorded history get so little recognition in the "gotta have it" collection. Sad, isn't it?
  12. Thanks for your reply -- I am using a Yamaha RXV1 receiver to feed the RSW-15 sub. It sounds great, but seems awfully sleepy when or if it kicks on my subbie. Robb
  13. I just hooked up my new RSW-15 subbie, but am not sure why the unit often fails to turn-on automatically. Also, I heard that some use a Y-connecter on the back of the unit to help engergize the system -- can anyone give me a clue as to what this is all about? (Yamaha RXV-1 receiver, two LaScalas, two RC7s, two RS7s) and the new RSW-15) Thanks, Robb
  14. Interesting movie, incredible photography/cinematography, great acting...overall I'd give it 6 on a 10:1 scale, 10 high. SCARFACE with Al Pacino is the movie you want to have! Robb
