Coytee, I have sent you a couple of PM's with questions [Y]

Dean, I'm glad to see you still have a sense of humor. Dean your horns would be a real contender if you didn't live so far. Parrot, thanks I had no idea they would cost that much WOW! Coytee, hmmmm very interesting. My wife is very good about what stereo equipment I bring home, however I don't think she could live with that HUGE horn on top. She probably would not say a word but still that horn is HUGE! Coytee I guess I nees to research past threads but as long as I have your attention. Do you like your horns or do they sound SO good that it overcomes there looks and cost?

Does anyone have an idea how much they (Klipsch) are asking for the 60th anniversary K-horn? I am in the market again and have been looking at the new stuff. I noticed that the new Cornwall III is 102 db eff. which is better than the older models. Are they using the same drivers? If you bought the Cornwall III could you put a TAD driver on the mid range and change the crossover? Lots of questions sorry guys but I am ready to buy some speakers. I will be selling a pair of beat up black LaScala's with the AA network (Bob C) which has been cryoed and they have Bob C's tweeter in them as well, here shortly in the Dallas area. Thanks, Guy<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, a very nicely writen review. I too would try this combo at a real world price. I understand that due to it's performance you may want to justify its cost. However if we had to buy everything that way a Corvette would cost $150,000.00, a pair of Klipschorns $50,000.00 and so on. If the item costs a couple of hundred dollars to build, double the cost and sell a ton of them. What do you guys think?

The Transcendent Sound Grounded Grid is a VERY good pre and it's cheap. A lot of bang for your buck here is the link http://www.transcendentsound.com/preamp%20kit.htm -

Bryan, I am not that technical. If you're referring to outputs it has two. One for sub or what have you. Unfortunitly our camera is in San Antonio which is where my wife left it last month[] We didn't have them ship it too us in Dallas because we are going doing there for Thanks giving. I can personally guaranty the pre amp. I do have three pictures from about 6 months ago before the Hexfreds, Jensen/sonicap, cryo and 2nd set of outputs where added. Shoot me your email or tell me how to post pictures please LOL -
This unit is extremely customized. Cost and upgrades are $799.00 for the unit, Bent remote pcb and steeped attenuator $400.00, upgraded the power supply with Hexfreds, upgraded tubes, output caps are now Jensen oil filled bypassed with Platinum Sonicaps $300.00 and then I sent the whole unit in and had it cryoed $200.00 total investment about $1,700.00. I am getting ready to list it on audiogon for $800.00 Please let me know if anyone is interested, this unit is VERY hard to beat for the money. All the best, Guy

I've had Bob's tweeters in a pair of LaScalas now for about 2 or 3 months and they sound great. Thanks Bob, Guy

I have to jump on the Erik band wagon as well. Erik has helped me build the transcendent pre, with lots of phone support. Erik your awesome. Guy

10cc, I believe the crossovers hence the sound of the 70's will be a little better. In the 80's Klipsch used the AK II crossovers and in my opinion that is not one of there best crossovers. That being said if you can pick them up for a good price you can change the crossover. BEC here on this site makes great new drop in crossovers, very easy to install. All the best, Guy

Duke, I have a 1965 Super reverb with original tubes??????? Its not as bad as you think.

I'm not that stupid and why would you assume that I was? If it had a BIN I would have use it. Last time I bid on a pair the guy ended the auction early. Must have worked out a deal with one of the biders So I just wanted a bid on them so he wouldn't end the auction with an offer from someone. -

playntheblues replied to playntheblues's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Hey guys, I have been peekin around ebay and there seems to be some good mackie powered mixers. Would it be much of a compromise to buy a Mackie powered mixer oppose to the Mackie 1202 and than a Crown? Thanks, GUy -
