  1. I have been to the doctor. He chalks it up to being in so much pain all the time. I was just curious what the two numbers ment. Thanks
  2. I have ehlers danlos syndrome so I have to go to the doctor a lot. I was there the other day and my blood pressure keeps going up. Does anyone know what the first numbers and last numbers realy mean? My pressure is high (148/110) and I was just wounder what it all means.
  3. That is what I thought. I have been reading about all this material and diy frames. I have been trying to talk the wife into a fixed frame screen since I got my 900u. I have a manual pull down that is starting to get wavy. I might be able to do this cheap, I have connections with guys in metal shops that could make me a frame. I think I would have mine welded up, it will just make things stronger.
  4. So is the section that is brighter in the middle the material?
  5. I decided to go with a 16:9 ratio for now. I will have to do more research on the other ratios. I went to Circuit City to buy the elite 100" matte white finish. It is a much better screen for me. The only problem is that it is starting to get wavy. I think I will take it back, but then I don't know what to do. I am going to have to start doing more research.
  6. What screen did you get for it? The projector is very strong but the screens will be harder to find the right one.
  7. I have some movies that I use for audio and some video most aren't the same movie. I use Master and Commander for audio. The first cannon fight is awsome. It starts with the long range one and just keeps getting closer. Infact I think I have sold a lot of sv subwoofer with this movie. U571 is a great one also for that. Open Range is a great video disc. Great picture quility. Monster Inc. is another video one. It can be used for audio as well. When the kid starts to laugh and the lights buzz and then blow, WOW. 5th element is a great video one as well. Reighn of fire is a great audio disc for serround. The dragons fly all over the room. Ice age 2 great picture and sound
  8. Ok here are my thoughts. The pany produces a real good picture. The colors are very vivid and the blacks are good right out of the box. I calibrated it and the picture got even better. I have some screen shots but I have to down size the picture files because they are 4 and 5 meg each. The things I am not happy with: The gray wolff screen. I can see the grain of the screen when watching movies and tv. It makes the picture look noisy. I am new to this but I am willing to get a new screen and replace this couple day old one. But my question is; if I get a da lite hp or matte white will this fabric grain problem go away? Or will it just get better? Is there any one out there that has seen these two screens? I am puzzled I don't want to buy a new screen to have the same problem.
  9. I received the projector today and had a little time to play with it. Picture quility is very good and blacks are good also. I will give a better review and some pictures tomorrow. Just wanted to give an update.
  10. I am looking for a switcher that has one hdmi and one DVI input and outputs on two hdmi. The reason for this is my HDTIVO has a hdmi out put and component but will only out put on one at one time. That is the same for my DVD player. I want to get a switch box that I can feed one HDMI feed to my projector and still be able to have my TV hooked up to the same equipment. This is a little confusing and I am have trouble putting down what I need in words. So that would be 2x2 switch; Input 1 HDMI and 1 DVI Output 2 HDMI I could also use Input 2 component Output 2 HDMI or 2 component I have looked for a switch box like this for awhile but I have not found the right one. Any help would be nice. Also does anyone know that max length a component cable, HDMI, and DVI can be?
  11. I am now up in West Bend. I bought a house here about 2 years ago. Now that I just thought about that I have been gone for some time.
  12. Ya it has been a while. Time flies. I have been making up some time with the 7 year old. When I was out of work and having 3 surgies I missed alot of fun stuff with him. I have been resently diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and have been told that I will be living with constant dislocation and pain for the rest of my life. So I have been dealing with that as well. I just keep my fingures crossed that my son doesn't develope it. Any new equiment Gary?
  13. I sold my tool box. As many of you know I hurt myself at work and had to leave the Auto world and go back to school. Well finially I have started to get back on my feet and wanted a new toy. I have had the upgrade bug. So I did it. I just orderd the Panasonic 900u projector and a new 92" 16:9 screen. I don't have my basement finished yet but I am going to put it in my living room for now. I am going to mount the screen above my 57" tv, and when I want to watch a movie or the Packers I will hit a button and drop the screen down infront of my tv. Now I have to wait 5-9 days for it to come. I think everyone has had the waiting for the shipping man for the new toy joy. I have read some great reviews on the panasonic projector and I hope it lives up to the hype. I can't watch DLP's because my eye's get the rainbow effect. My uncle has a 5x wheel dlp projector and I get sick watching it. So I was only left with LCD thus the panasonic. Just felt like sharing, I havn't been on here a hole lot lately. I will have to invite the SE Wisconsin Guys over when I get it all hooked up.
  14. I have actual owned and used both amps. I even did a side by side comparison. The 1080 is a great amp. It is very quite and sounds good. You will hear a differnce by going to the 1095. It is not much of a differnce or non at lower levels, but at high levels is where you here the differnce. After some time you won't hear it anymore. There isn't a huge differnce, but if you listen to sacd or dvd-a you will hear less dynamics and it won't be as clean when all the channels are try to provide sound. Some movies you can hear a differnce. Now that being said, if you don't have an outboard amp now the improvment in sound will out way the side effects. It is also a great amp and I recomend both to many people. Now I run the 1090 for the mains and 1095 for the center and 5,6, and 7th channels. I have had many amps in the past and these I have found to very good amps for the money. I don't know if I ever will sell the 1090, it has so much power and is super clean.
  15. Thanks guys. I am limited to where I can put the screen. I may have to save some more money and buy something to sit on and then move the system down stairs.
  16. This is a tough one for me to help you with. I have no experience with the amp you are trying. I do have a 4802 denon and have ran outboard amps with it and there has been a big improvement in sound. I have always used differnt amps like Rotel and Audire. I think you need some that has had this set up to help you. I would not give up. Where do you live? There are many people on this forum that would bring there amps over to your house for you to listen to the improvment.
  17. I am in the process of selling my tool box. I am going to use the money for a projector and screen. I wanted to mount the screen on the ceiling and then pull it down infront of my tv and all three front speakers. I have been told that there are not that many screens that will beable to bass audio cleanly. I am going to have a budget around 800 for a screen. I want to spend the mojority of the money on the projector. Any advise guys?
  18. I would get an amp. You can use your receiver for pre/pro duty. I would recomand Rotel, Parasound, Aragon, B&K etc. I would not get anything less then 200 wpc. This will get you the biggest bang for the buck. You will use the new amp as you main left and Right channels. This will also free up some power from the receiver for movie duties as well. It is kind of a double bonus.
  19. I have been in touch with many other guys in the industry and people of the masses. They all agree. Get the HD discs to NETFLIX and BLOCKBUSTER and it will be a hit. People will adapt if they can rent the disc at low cost. It has been proven before with beta and vhs. What ever format the rental companies have will be the one that lastes.
  20. Ok I will set some things striaght. I was a master Mechanic and now work at Briggs and Stratton. Briggs is a 4 cycle company, always has been always will be. We only make 1, 2 stroke and that is for another company. Lawn Boy has made 2 cycle lawn mowers for years. They are not briggs engines. They were very good lawn mores. They also had some model's that had oil injections, which means it has a oil tank and you don't have to mix gas. As for 10w or 5w oil in your briggs, it is not a good idea to use in warm weather. Like the weather for cutting your lawn. Another reason for not using multi grade oil in a lawn more that it turns acidic over time. Most people don't change there oil enough and the oil turning acidic will reduce engine life. Honda and other cars are now using lower weight oil to help stop oil sluging. This makes the rings stick and burn oil and reduce power. If you don't believe me look at the 2000 toyota corrola and geo prizim. They all had this problem and most it was due to the dealers and quik lubes not using low grade oil.
  21. I have a lot of file on my computer in the other room. Does any one hear use a wireless center to stream them into the media room? If so which one do you have and do you like it? Any bugs? Thanks, Dan
  22. first I don't know what parasounds you have but you say the small ones. So yes you need a bigger better amp than the parasounds or the emotiva to drive those speakers.
  23. You are going to need more than that to back those babies sing. I need more than that for RF3II's and RF7's. I would look into a two channel to run the mains, with a huge power supplie and a lot of power.
  24. First let me say that I have both the oppo and the panasonics that are listed here. The Oppo has the best picture quility, it is better than the pany's. This is due to some after processes that the oppo does that the pany's don't do as well. Also they only put the chips in the dvi digital stream so they wouldn't get sued by the movie comp. like LG did. It also keeps the price down. There support is by far the best that I have seen yet. Specially because it is a cheap player. Plus the format for the upscaling and HD-DVD and Blue-ray has not been set. Will the first HDMI players support 1080P and pass all audio through as well. I don't think so. Will all the early tv's work with the HDMI that have HDMI, I don't think so. Everyone will see some realy problems with the early players and tv's in this format. It will take a long time yet intill the HD formats are main stream and this will keep the sales high in the dvd bracket. The pany's do have some advan., such as they loading device will work with all discs. Plus they do more processing in the audio side. Hence the higher prices.
  25. That sucks about the hoops you had to jump. I am finding that it is so differnt for differnt people and lending comp. I bought a house a little while ago, 157k and no job. They didn't ask any questions or anything. It was from a big bank. I am now thinking of selling because of the huge increase in home values in my area. I had someone come by and said I should be able to sell for over 220k. That is pretty good for just over a year. But if I will have to jump through all those hoops I think I will just stay.
