  1. Thanks for the help. Pioneer dv 563a.it does play dvd a and sacd. only $179. worth a try ,it seems to have pretty good reviews at this price range. i think i will hook up both and try . this reciever has a button you press for 6 channel inputs which removes any dsp programs which is what i would rather have for dvd a or sacd it would also eliminate the optical connection , this may work. Thanks again , yall have a merry christmas.

Stevie ray vaughan and double trouble live from austin texas

not the best sound it is just dolby digital, sounds best on dpl or just stereo but it was some of his best songs.

  4. I built a shiva in a 5cf box ebs alingement, only a ava250 amp, sounds very good to me . i have no way to test i only have a spl meter. Next i want to build a tempest or something to get more mid bass for movies. The shiva sounds good for music. I have never had any other subs so i cant compare, the only sub i have in stores that sounded better was the rsw15 ,hard to compare home Vs store.

  8. I just got the Sound & Vision tune up dvd and it was very easy to use. It has all the calibrations for audio and video i needed, from what i figure just a condensed version of avia, i got it from there web site.

  10. To me it sounds very good, you have to realize the is the first sub i ever owned. Shiver driver, ava 250 amp in a 5 cf ported box tuned to 18 hz . I really needed some bass , sb3 front , sc1 center , sf1 rear ,old technics center for rear center. I need to get a spl meter and a test cd,to hard to do by ear, dont think it is even all that close now . What is a good cd to use i read avia is ok , where to buy this can't find off line , thanks. 1.gif

  11. what is the best way to hook up a diy sub? after asking questions around here i decided to diy. {small budget} i put together a 142.5 liter 4" vented shiva & ava 250 amp tuned to 18.1 hz ,looks pretty good. sound ? i am not sure how to hook up, reciver {yamaha rx v730} has a single plug in for sub and ava 250 has L&R or high level inputs what is the best setup ? what type of cable? do i just use a single cable then a Y ? no instructions whith sub amp. thanks for advice.1.gif
