  1. Thanks to all for posting I'm sorry I haven't replied to you until now. I know most would like to see how there troubleshooting abilities faired. To those who said it was the BAT amp....You are correct!![] My right channel has gone Kaboom! I'll fill you in on the story. As you know, my Klipsch K-horn blew a couple of fuses, from my earlier posting. I originally thought that , it was just a fluke. Well, its not. I called Balanced audio technology and asked for some advice on my problem. He told me that, inside my amp I have two fuses for each channel. It's a two channel amp....4 fuses. Anyways, I also have two lights for each channel(these lights are inside the amp). Not sure what there for. Well, one light was out. I pulled off the cover and well, guess what! Fuse is blown. So good one for the Bat amp customer care associate. So I mosey on down to Radio Shack and buy myself a fast blow 10amp fuse. Get home, put in the fuse. Plug the amp in , hit the power button and..........................Kaboom!! Well , we have a meltdown Houston. Not sure what went wrong , but I have smoke and a small fire. Of course smoke and fire don't mix with electronics. Called the guys back at BAT, and he agreed. I should not have smoke and fire coming from my amp. So I have to ship my amp to Delaware. I appreciate all the help guys. Last but not least..DR Bill is exactly correct with his prognoses....A bad power transistor is feeding DC to the speaker. Not anymore though, it burnt up.HeHe Thank for all Cultrain
  2. A week ago my front right main blew its fuse. I went to replace it and it automatically blew another fuse. It also sounds like the tweeter is going to blow too. It generates alot of feedback when amp is powered(tweeter). When the speaker originally blew , it was quite loud. I'm still not sure why it blew, or what made it blow. The left main works quite fine. By the way, the speaker is a set of 1990's Klipsch Corner Horns, ak-3 crossovers, I believe. Powered by a BAT amp vk-200, with a Aragon Stage one. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. No pun intended. Also, the other fuse was not damaged. Cultrain
  3. I hate to burst everyone's bubble. It was all camera trickery. My wire is Straightwire RhapsodyII. It's a funky blue/green color. I didn't notice it until I read the post. Sorry . It looks kewl though doesn't it. Cultrain
  4. I love my Aragon, anybody who gives it a bad review doesn't know what their talking bout or is smoking crack. I demoed alot of gear and for the price and perfomance you can't beat it. Only thing close was the Sonic Frontier AVM 20. Cultrain

I've never seen one in a store around here. Do you think it would hold a 100lb amp that is 21" deep? ---------------- I bought my rack from Ultimate electronics store here in Dallas. Just by luck though! They had a grand opening sale that I attended, saw the rack. I asked the manager how much...he told me $149.00. I looked at my buddy and said "I'll take two". We both looked at each other and chuckled. He came back with this not so smiling look on his face. The rack retailed for somewhere around $300-400 mark. But he honored it anyway. Anyways, to get on with your question. If you look closely, I have two amps on that baby! Bottom one roughly 70lbs(me thinks). And the top rack hold a bat amp which weighs roughly the same, but the bottom rack is rated to 150lbs. Yes it will hold it and does have the depth. As for stability, not the greatest or even close. If your into the true balance act ...cable risers, pointy cones, isolation disk, flux capacitors or fluid suspension with whip cream, then this rack might not be for you. It does have wheels, which find quite usefull, since I'm always dinking with my toys. And it looks good, so I think. Cultrain

Where is the Vertical Cornwall for the front and the other Heritage for the rears? ---------------- Well, I would like to have the cornwall. Just haven't done it. As for the rear, I'm trying to get a hold of another pair of K-horns. My buddy has a pair of K-horns in his house(in his room) that he uses for a clothes rack. And believe me, they are in beautifull condition. If he knew what they were worth, he'd probably throw em up for sale. Cultrain

  9. You will always have a hiss with the horns. I have Khorns and do not enjoy my hiss. I run a Balanced audio technology amp and Aragon Stage one. Although, the music is reproduced unbelievably. I use transparent speaker cables and rca's. As for the power regeneration, ps audio does it well. But there is better(Richard Grey-240v,API power wedge) have demoed p300, p600 on my front end components(pre/pro and cd) and it has made a difference. It really depends on the crap thats coming out of your wall. I went a step further and installed two 20amp circuits with isolated grounds to cure most of my problems. I am drawing quite a load though. With two amps, 2 subs,cd, dvd, 73" t.v, satellite, hd and the list goes on. As for two ch. listening, the P300 is very nice. I believe they have a 30 day return policy. You should be able to find a good deal on audiogon. If your willing to spend the jack. You be suprised at how much clean power will run ya. As for running monster power centers. I won't. But thats me. Anyone who puts in writing in there manual...Unplug from wall if bad weather occurs is definately selling something funky. Try looking at the Transparent Power Bank Six, I was thouroughly impressed when I hooked it up. Didn't change the sound one bit, plus provides surge protection. Cultrain88
  10. Did I hear the THE EAR is head of Sales and Marketing for SVS. Can I get (2) PB4 plus w/reference package. I'll send the money order tomorrow. $500 ought to cover everything. 12. I own 90Khorns and multiple klipsch surrounds. I love my khorns to death, but I have to side with THE EAR on RF7's not being in the same class as Dyn's 3.3's. Not even close. I've auditioned the 3.4's and 5.4's, and its a world of difference. As for price point advantage, Klipsch is the bang for the buck hands down winner. Quality price, quality product. 13. I owned the RMB-1075 for about two months. One thing I did notice is, the rotels stay cool no matter how loud I played the music and movies. I thought it didn't fit well synergistically with my klipsch. I own the Aragon 3005, and its smooth as silk. Last amp I'll buy for a long time. Albeit, not a bad amp for the price point(if you get a deal on it). As for the $1000 price point, they be smoking crack. I bought mine brand new for $880 at home theater store in Dallas. 14. I have the Aragon 3005, and I am quit happy with the sound. I use it for H/T only now. But had my khorns and surrounds running with them. Power is distributed evenly. Which was a shock to me, when i first set it up. I had a Rotel and unfortunately didn't keep up with my needs. The Aragon and Klipsch are synergistically matched. No worries here. 15. I have read this also about the 8400. The benchmark test on the Marantz didn't fair to well. But as for quality of picture, I viewed the marantz on a few occasions, but never had the chance to bring it home for a test ride. I enjoy the quality of the Denon 2900 and feel it has alot to offer. If I had it my way, I'd have the Denon 9000 on my rack. But, the kids still need to eat. HeHe
  16. I own the 2900 also. As for it having these so called bugs, that people talk about. I agree entirely. Not sure what kind of bugs, maybe Red Rhodesian Spiders! I have run into playback problems on several occasions. If I could do it over I would have gone with the Marantz 8400. But thats me. You wanted to know if units out there exist with problems, well unfortunately they do. Hopefully Denon, is taking care of businesss. I use it for DVD only now. But it does play the music well, and DVD's. Cultrain88
  17. Your question of Rotel products matching up with klipsch. I had the Rotel RMB-1075. I found it to be excessively bright on my sytem. I have Klipsch khorns, rc-7, rs-7. I know have Aragon. It was especially bright with h/t. Which is my main enjoyment. I was using the Rotel with a Denon Receiver. I tried different ways of toning it down, but to no avail. The amp itself was a work horse. Just didn't match up well in my system. Cultrain
  18. Thank you for the replys. I enjoy the feedback from klipsch fans. As for the svs blocking my extension of my khorns, I'm not sure where else to put my catch scratching posts. Funny thing is, I have two svs's. Of course its in front of my r/h and l/h khorn. The wall is 17ft wide(tv is 73") and I'm using pretty much all of it. I don't want to put the svs next to my mitsubishi tv. Probably rattle crt's off their mounts. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm using all klipsch speakers for h/t and 2 ch. My center is a rc-7 and surrounds are rs-7's. For 2 ch. I have the khorns set to small with a crossover freq. set at 75hz. Its set opposite for h/t. I use the svs for pretty much all the bass extension. They do sound good. It was kind of difficult dialing in the phase on both of them, always seem to be readjusting them. I will post some more pictures this week(clear ones). 19. So true indeed. I also use the spl meter and test disc to set up my h/t and 2 channel. The horns are truly remarkable in any situation. Very life like simulation. The new Nora Jones cd sounds incredible. I use svs 20-39pc+'s(2) for my subwoofers. I'll probably add the new pb2 shortly. Can't get enough bass, for my h/t. As for setting the phases on 3 subs, I'm sure it will be tricky. Cultrain
  20. I know this might sound funny, but how many have dual purpose khorns. H/T and 2 channel? Picture is lousy, did it with my Camcorder. I'm fairly new to this room. Any comments would be greatly appreciated on how to improve! I'll post more lousy pics, if ya want em. Cultrain
  21. I live in Frisco, Texas Gil. Thats about 20 miles north of Dallas. I'm not too familiar with the idea of auto transformers to adjust the impedance. Did you have good results with it?. I am curious and interested in all poss. for the white noise. I currently listen to cd's through my dvd, the white noise level is the same in stereo or direct mode(even while bypassing the dsp). I'm going to order a tube cd player with up sampler, just have to decide on which one I want. This might help settle it down some, to get rid of the dsp portion in my preamp. Cultrain
  22. Thank you all for the information. As for buying a house after I sell my equipment, you must have been talking to my better half. Selling my Khorns!! Isn't that Sacralege to even mention those words!! Although a pair of Dynaudio evidence masters would be nice.. hehe Then I would have to sell my house and live in em.. I have put a cheater plug on my amp to get rid of a ground loop problem, does not change white noise level though. Eventually I'm going to put a dedicated 20amp 10guage with isolated ground. For some reason, the builder decided to put almost everything he could find on that breaker, I think I found a flux capacitor(1.2 gigawatts) attached also. As for Isolation of the white noise it goes like this. Turn amp on, minuscule amount, had to put ear to tweeter to even hear it. Then I turned on preamp/processor and the white increase significantly. So my perp is my preamp. Then I hit the mute on the preamp, white noise cuts out about 40% of what it is when not muted. I turn the preamp amp up and the white noise does not increase with a higher setting. As for your question danny, yes the ak3 crossover is the original. I bought my Khorns in 90 in Japan at camp foster october fest for $1500 brand new in the box. Wish I had bought two pairs. I am currently using the SE version on the amp w/sensitivity of 1.72, I would have used the balanced xlr, but the stage one doesn't offer the balanced inputs. Try to figure that one out. I haven't messed with the gain yet on my preamp, only have had for a couple of weeks. Not quite sure on that one yet. Sell my horns, I'm still chuckling about that one!! I'm frustrated not clinically insane. Once again, thank you everybody for your input and wisdom and time. Cultrain
  23. Thank you for the reply White noise would be the appropriate technical name for my problem. But I still believe there has to be a solution to this problem, without having to spend another 10k to 20k on upgrades. Although, could use that excuse to my wife, don't think she will buy into that. I talked to a home theater tech guy at klipsch. He told me that he has ran the same setup on his khorns down in the r&d dept, along with the 8008mkII,palladiums and other the aragon has to offer, and does not have this same problem. I know their will always be some white noise within. But my white noise is extremely audible. Like someone is poking my eyes out, or ears for that matter. As for Isolating the problem, I get white noise from preamp or amp. Also the hiss is audible when source components are not playing. Muted or not. Still there. Thank for the info cultrain
  24. I own a pair of 90 Khorns w/alk3 crossovers. The problem is that my khorns hiss quite a bit from the tweeters and some from the mid. I have tried various equipment setups(anthem, denon, onkyo,Aragon). I've called the tech guys here at klipsch, still waiting on a response. The hiss is quite audible from 4 to 5 ft away, and grows with each volume increment. Does anybody have this problem?? And how do I fix this problem without having to replace speakers. Its driving me insane! I love my khorns. Not ready to throw in the towel just yet! 25. I just recently bought a wood technology CT-12. Its a bit pricey for what they give you. It is built with a angle, and they do give you spikes for the bottom to tilt it some more. It does seem to be a bit cheap looking. I found another stand at Ulitimate video for $130. They have the RC-7 on top of it. But it is quite beefy and would go quite well with any center. Unfortunately, my t.v.'s height would not allow it to be placed there(my t.v has a height of 24" to bottom of screen, and the rc-7 is nine inches tall). The one at ultimate is 18" stand. Cultrain88
