  1. I’m looking to add an additional sub (sorta an upgrade) to my home theater. I recently bought the R120SW over the weekend on sale for 300 but I recently found a listing for a SVS 25-31PCI for sale and negotiated it to 150. I do a decent amount movie & music. My my current set up includes SR 5011 Receiver (but used as preamp) RP 280F with MM7025 separate am RP 250c (center) RP 140SA (Atmos) KF 42 II (surround) these three are on an Proceed AMP 5 with an R10SW subwoofer. I cant decide if I should return the Klipsch R120SW to buy the SVS 25-31 PCI. I do a good 50-50 for music and movies. I listen to all variety do music from hip hop to EDM to Vietnamese pop music & bolero. My living soon is a small room maybe 12x12x10, with 3 walls connected to another room on the wall-less side. That connected room is about 15x10x10 with 3 walls and connect to another room. (Hope that makes sense. HELP!!!! Ps this is my first post, new to forum and thank you for any help!
  2. Found a R115SW. Sounds great. Glad I went with a 15”
  3. Ok, new thread... You've all convinced me I should get a sub. You've also convinced me I do not have entry level gear and I should work on refining my current setup once the sub is hooked up... I think I've narrowed down to either the SVS SB1000 or PB1000. I love that they offer 45-day trials on their equipment - true testament to quality? I also realize that offering such a service means you are paying for it somewhere... For those who do not need to trial the sub, they may think these subs are overpriced. I will likely buy one in the coming month or two. I know I can just pick one and if it doesn't work out I can return it and get the other one. But which should I try first? Ideally I will be happy with the first purchase and not have to return it. That will keep the buyer and seller the happiest! So, here's my breakdown: RB-35s as mains RC-62 center RS-52 surrounds The room is 19x15' with 12' vaulted gable ceilings. There is a 6' opening to the room by the kitchen and the TV sits adjacent to this wall (so on the 13' side). I'd say 50% is video games, 25% movies/shows, 25% music. If I'm missing some info to help the decision let me know. So, ported or sealed? I know there are personal preferences and I should test them out myself. And I plant to. But should one first over the other? It's like test driving a car... Do you hop right into the Turbo model or do you drive the eco first? I'm leaning towards the sealed sub based on reviews saying it's "punchier" and "cleaner". I don't want to piss off the neighbors, we just bought the house! haha. But I want to round out the sound my system is currently outputting.
  4. I've been full of ideas (and possibly something else) all day today, so at the risk of making a fool out of myself I'm throwing this one out to the forum & lurkers from Klipsch Product Development: What if Klipsch were to make Heritage-series surrounds for home theater? Maybe it sounds silly at first glance, but think about it. How many forum members are using Heritage speakers in their HT setups? How many goofy, un-elegant ways have we tried to elevate a Heresy to ear level without creating a danger for small children and pets? Envision a smaller version of the HIP with heavy-duty woofer, horns for mid-range and tweeter, and porting. How cool would that be? If you can build a mini-LaScala for the desktop (Klipsch blog), why not something like this? I run a market research firm for a living, and would be happy to suggest ways to test which would be low-risk. If anyone's interested, that is...
  5. I'm primarily looking for 2-channel and don't crank the volume. Finesse, detail, clarity are what I'm looking for. Currently up for consideration are a pair of Forte II's for $450 vs. Tangent 5000's for $400. Which would you choose and why; what do you think are the strengths & weaknesses of each pair? Would you choose differently if these were for home theater instead of 2-channel?
  6. As most of you know I LOVE taking pics of audio gear and sharing it here with the Klipsch Community. If they say a picture is worth a 1000 words...how much is a video worth? Who knows but I thought I would try something different by posting a video of my setup. It's rare that we ever get to see who is behind the screename so I thought I would give you a snapshot of me and my Home Theater. Plus I just needed another reason to use my GoPro Hero3+ Black. Be sure to change it to 1080p in your youtube settings. To do so, you'll need to click on the Youtube link on the video and view it on Youtube instead of from within the Klipsch Forum. Enjoy
