  1. Hello all, newbie here. I purchased a pair of RP-160M. I thought they look a bit "small" so I physically measured the cabinets. They measure smaller than what the manual specifies. I measure width at 8inches and the spec is 8inches. That's almost an inch smaller than the advertised size. So, what's going on here??? Can anyone take a MI ute to measure their own?
  2. I live in Brazil, at the end of the year I'm going to Florida, and I'm intending to buy a set of 2.0 speakers. Firstly i thought about the sixes(499$), but after a few negative reviews complaining about boomy bass and requiring a really good placement (and in my room i don't have plenty space for putting them on their best position possible) I decided to look after a few others, I found the RP-160M (399$), would match with the Yamaha A-S301BL(349$), and after a few more research I found the towers RP-260F that in my country I can buy for around 800$ converted, completing 1150$, I don't work yet, so this is really a lot of money for me. Any suggestions? Should I buy the sixes? Is there a difference between the towers and the 160s that worth that difference? I do not have plans to add a sub, since my mainly objective with this set is music and games, some movies eventually. And as I said, i have a small room and live in a apartment with my parents, so I couldn't turn it up all the way.
  3. Hello, We purchased two RP-160M as our rear speakers but we need a good stand. The ones I've seen so far basically just have the speaker sit on top and are unsecured. We have a little girl and don't want her to easily knock them over. Is there a stand that would secure them? I noticed they have the base plate with 4 screws so if there's a stand where I can screw those screws through the stand would help.
  4. Hi Everyone, I am building my first Klipsch home cinema kit. I used to have Bose Acoustimass 6.1 (a Surround back), I am still using the back and rear satellites - But they gotta go! I have new RP-280F for my fronts, the RP-450C obviously center and just got the Dolby Atmos RP-140SA's to sit on my front RP-280F's. I have a R-115SW on it's way. I am in a quandry as to what I replace my Bose surround and rear satellites with. My lounge is large (15m x 7m with angled/pitched ceilings and a lot of arches and stairs etc, ….acoustically awkward) with my living are at one end and dining area at the other, the sofa sits half way down with the rear of it facing the dining area, fron obviously facing TV etc. I was thinking of going foe the RP-250's to replace the surrounds and rear on stands at each end of my sofa, then thought what about getting a pair of RP-250's or 260's, then what about just the RP-160M's? Can anyone give me some advice as to what would sound best, do I need to get a new rear too? If so what? I am running it all from Denon AVR W6200X. Please let me know what you think. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers - Rob
  5. Hi all, New to the forums and had a question. My current Onkyo R520 and its speakers are poing to be shipping off so I need a replacement. One of the amps I'm looking at is a '58 Bogen DB212 integrated amp with a (massive) 12W output. After budget & physical space was considered I'm thinking about going with the RP-160s, due to their sensitivity. Any issues or problems with that type of pairing? thanks in advance.
  6. I want to upgrade to the Klipsch Reference Premiere series but space is a problem in my 14 ft wide by 16-1/2 ft long by 8-3/4 ft high room. The plan is to, over time, upgrade to a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos configuration. I was reading that the difference between using the RP-280F vs the RP-160M is a question of low range, which a sub-woofer is better suited to handle (I plan to use the RS-112SW sub-woofers). So what about using the Klipsch in-walls instead of the bookshelf RP-160M speakers for front speakers? Also, with the RP-160M's I only have space for 1 subwoofer (hidden inside a credenza). If I use in-wall speakers, then I have floor space for up 2 of the RS-112SW sub-woofers in the front of the room. Grateful for your feedback on this. Equipment Plan Fronts - ??? Center - RP-450CA Subwoofer - RS-112SW Side Surrounds - RP-250S Rear Surrounds - RP-160M Ceiling - 4 Proficient Audio C850 In-Ceiling Speakers AVR - Denon AVR-X4400H Receiver
  7. Hi Guys, I am new to Klipsch speakers but not new to HT systems. I want to upgrade my 10+ year old HT system because it hardly works with newer competes I have. I also want to upgrade to Dolby Atmos. Attached is the new layout. Room is 14ft wide x 16.5ft long x 8ft-10" high. The existing room was purpose-built 10 years ago with Kinetics isomer clips to provide "floating walls and ceiling", cavities were filled with fibreglass insulation, and two layers of sheetrock was installed, with a 1" Kinetics KUA-100 acoustical foam sandwiched between the sheet rock. Acoustical caulking was also used seal the room. My only concern is the 3 window openings. Equipment is as follows: Existing (to be reused): Subwoofer - B&W ASW608 (repurposed as rear subwoofer) (200W, 32-140Hz, 90dB) Ceiling Speakers - Proficient Audio C850 - 4 of them (repurposed as oversea Atmos speakers) (175W, 28-22kHz, 92dB) Dish Hopper Elite Screens TE92HC2 Proficient IW550 In-Wall Front Speakers (125W, 60-20kHz, 88dB) Samsung PN60F8500 Plasma TV (giving trouble - needs to be replaced) To Purchase: Denon AVR-X4400H Receiver Optoma UHD65 4K Projector Klipsch RP-280F Front Speakers (see above) Klipsch RP-450CA Center Channel Klipsch R-112SW subwoofer Klipsch RP-250S as side surround speakers Klipsch RP-150M or RP-160M as rear surround speakers. LG B7A OLED 4K 65" TV Acoustic Treatments covers for the 3 windows. Questions: 1) As you can see from the diagram, the rear surrounds cannot be mounted on the floor (on speaker stands), because of the entrance door. Would it be okay to mount the RP-160M's on the wall (near to the ceiling) and point downwards to the listening area? Would this be overpowering to the listener sine they are monopole speakers. 2) For this size room, shower I use the RP150M or RP160M for rear surround? 3) Proficient In-Wall IW550 - not sure if to use these as my fronts or go for the Klipsch RP280F ? 4) Due to limitation on front floor space, my plan is to put the Klipsch R-112SW subwoofer inside the middle section of the credenza (it will fit). Any concerns on sound quality? Also any comments on location of the B&W 8" subwoofer at the back right corner of the room (see diagram), 5) Any further ideas on acoustical treatments that would noticeably enhance the sound? 6) From the diagram, you will see that the In-ceiling C850 speakers need to be moved to meet the placement requirements of Dolby Atmos. The front ones don't need to move to far. Can I get away with leaving them where they are or should I move them? 7) As you can see, the entrance door is along the opposite wall to the projector screen. This poses a problem in the day and affects the viewing. Thinking of putting a black curtain along the door but this would be very annoying to go through every day. Any other suggestions? 8) Are the speakers chosen too big for this room? Info so can you suggest other Klipsch models? Thanks alot, Anthony
  8. I have 2 of the RP 280's 2 of the RP 160M's and a pair of RP 240S would you trade that set for 4 82 ii's and 2 Klipsch RB-61 II?
  9. Looking to add to my current setup, and I want to stay in the Premiere line. If anyone has the RP-250C or the RP-150M/160M for sale, please let me know and lets talk a price! Thanks in advance! -Craig
  10. Hi! I want pair a amplifier with RP-160M (Power handing is 100W). But I don't know How many watts is the best for 160M. Currently, I can select amplifier Yamaha A-S301. It have 60w+60w for "RMS Output Power (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz)" If I pair A-S301 with 160M, Do it have clipping or any issue ? Thanks in advance for the help!

  12. Anyone suggest a good solid speaker stand for the RP-160M's? I am using them for back speakers for my surround sound. I have a niece that comes over often and I do not want her knocking them over or for them to fall and injure her. Most of the stands have a 6"x6" top plate which seems way to small for these speakers. Any help would be great! Thank you!
  13. Hi guys, New to the forum so first I'd like to say hello. So I am moving into a new condo that has been all pre-wired and the design of the space also makes my options a little more limited on top of that. I have attached a picture that sort of shows the room, the subwoofer, ceiling rear speakers, general couch/listening area, and center channel/tv location. Since it is a new place I wanted to update all of my speakers. Due to space limitations, i was thinking of doing RP-160M front left/right speakers. For the center channel i was thinking the RP-250C. Then the subwoofer I was thinking of doing the R-110SW. Then there is no placement for rears in an ideal location so the ceiling was wired in the two areas circled in a red box. I am not sure which ones to go with though. The CDT-5800-C II or the CDT-5650 II. Also, I want to see if my choices in center channel and subwoofer should balance out the space appropriately. Further down the road i was going to put speakers in the rest of the place too. One room needing high humidity and a pair outside. So if the ceiling choice for the rear surround could be picked out in advance to balance out with the rest of the future whole home audio system in mind that would also be ideal. Thanks in advance, Mike
