  1. Hi all, I have a very weird issue where the sound just disappears after changing the TV source or just launching content on my Apple TV, for example. Let’s say I am playing on my PS5 and I want to switch over to my Apple TV source or any other source, and suddenly I don’t have any sound anymore. My audio format is set to Stereo/PCM on all devices, including my Samsung TV. When this happens, what I do is change the input on my speakers and then back to TV (I am using ARC), and after that, the sound just pops back suddenly. The Fives are on the latest firmware, have been factory reset multiple times, and have been tested with different HDMI and optical cables (this also happens when using OPT mode). I am not sure what to do; could it be that the internal amp is failing? The speakers are not even a year old. Here is some diagnostic information if it can help: Model Name: The Fives MAC Address: xxxxxx Serial Number: xxxxxx Model Number: 1067563 UUID: FA07104A-2B01-0000-0000-54B7E580ECD9 Current Input: TV Firmware Version: 1.6.9 Hardware Version: 02.00.01 MCU Firmware Version: 7.0.3 DSP Firmware Version: s.o. Bootloader Firmware Version: 01.00.01
  2. Hi all, I’m new here. Just got the fives and trying to update firmware for Bass Cut mode EQ but without success. Any suggestion? thanks in advance
  3. I just purchased the Pro-ject Phono E BT (V2.1, EDR) unit and works well with bluetooth speakers like the Bose Revolve. But to my disappointment I cannot connect this same BT to Klipsch 'The Fives' speakers (BT 5.0). I tried every trick and resets with no success. Anyone had the same issue and found a solution for this. Thanks in advance. JMagro
  4. Hey y’all! I’ve had the fives for about 6 months or so and something about the natural oak just doesn’t look the best to me. I’d like to refinish these with a darker stain, but I just don’t know how to go about it. I know that refinishing veneer is challenging and I also don’t know how thin the veneer is on these. I know this isn’t that big of a deal, but if anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it. Thanks!
  5. I have a R-41 PM and a R-120SW connected to my TV via optical. When watching movies the dialogue is very Low compared to my 5 year old soundbar. The two channel setup has a much more immersive experience but how do fix the dialogue issue I am having? Any advice or tips? If these speakers are just built this way do you think higher end models like the R-51PM or the Fives might make a difference? Cheers Yash
  6. I have a R-41 Powered Monitors and a R-120SW connected to my TV via optical. When watching movies the dialogue is very Low compared to my 5 year old soundbar. 7. I recently purchased a new TT (Pro Ject Debut Carbon Espirit) paired with the Fives powered speakers by Klipsch, to be used almost exclusively to play vinyl, with the occasional streaming via Spotify and my iPhone. When streaming music, the speakers sound very good. However, with vinyl (and I bought them for vinyl) they sound just okay. I’m no expert. So perhaps I expect too much. But to me, when playing records, even new, audiophile grade records, The Fives sound a little muddy, sort of muffled. And I really want the true vinyl experience. The cartridge (Ordifon Red) came new with the TT. The TT has no internal phono amp. One of the reasons I chose the 5s was their built in preamp. (I since read one review that opined the phono preamp was the 5s weakest feature.) So I find myself contemplating a separate phono amp, perhaps a tube amp, based upon what I read. Pro Ject makes one (S2?) that plays to rave reviews, but it ain’t cheap. ($450). Am I destined to spiral down the bottomless audiophile rabbit hole called “better sound,” so often sought in vain? (You know you’ve done it.) Or should I give a separate preamp a shot? Or does someone more knowledgeable than I have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi, I am facing a strange issue with the fives. I have connected then via hdmi arc and they work beautifuly and give awesome sound. The moment I use the other hdmi port for playing games or Chromecast then tv display switches off momentarily and then comes back. This keeps happening till I switch the speakers off. So basically I can't play games and watch Chromecast with speakers on. Does any one know if this is a know issue and is there a work around. Thank you
