Nickhoffmeier@shaw.ca
I am buying a new reciever (finally convinced the wife, yay). I need a little advice. My system consists of RF-82's in the front, RC-25 centre, RS-III v2 surrounds and WTFK rears. My HK avr 230 runs out of breath well before I am happy with the volume but the quality is fantastic. I want to upgrade to something with HDMI 1.3 upconverting and 7.1. Any recommendations??

jamesV
Welcome to the forum. How much are you looking to spend? Have you looked into separates? I just looked up the model that you have and seen that it does have the pre-outs, what about getting a 7-channel amp to run with your current receiver. Then you can look for a receiver or a pre that has the capabilities that you are looking for. James
tommyboy
Yes, budget is always iimportant. I'm a fan of Pioneer. The Elite series is very nice; if you have the money. glad to see your WAF went well.
Bill H.
What ever unit you get, your next savings should be to upgrade the Center speaker,to the RC 62. so that it will voice match the RF 82............. Good Luck.
Nickhoffmeier@shaw.ca
Budget is $1000.00, seperates are a little exotic for me. I am a big fan of Rotel. Can't quite afford it. I do want all of the new sound formats that come with blu-ray.

HudsonValleyNoah
The Egg has some good looking deals (as noted above.) This Onky has most everything I want at a good price ($650 shipped...) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882120109 very tempting... Seems to be $50 less at VANN'S amazon.com storefront... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001AMUF7K/ref=pd_luc_mri?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A228GNTXW0TH0L&v=glancehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/help/seller/shipping.html/ref=dp_pd_shipping?ie=UTF8&asin=B001AMUF7K&seller=A228GNTXW0TH0L#fixed'> But I have never bought from VANN's via Amazon... I feel that NewEgg gives very good customer support. Watch out for NewEggs financing system... You need to stay on your toes when dealing with that... -N
