Mrphats1999
Its me the new guy. :-D I got my system a while back and I have enjoyed it very much. I love my Pioneer VSX-D810S. Good Reciever, I was just wondering if anyone else had one besides me and if they had any comments or compliaments. I wanted to get an Pioneer Elite Edition but hey I could pay 1400+ ya know? Well I am proud in saying instead of paying 499 for this reciever I paid 242 for it with shipping. The only catch was a small scratch on the side, okay not that small but it was touched up and you have to stare at it to see it. Let me know what guys think about Pioneer, Please no system bashing LOL.. ------------------ My current home theater system.
Klipsch Quintet's 4
1 KSC-C1
Pioneer VSX-D810S
Pioneer DVD 343
working on getting KSW-12
MS X BOX as well
QUiKSR20
Hey buddy, Pioneer is ok for a mid level brand I guess Im new to this stuff too and have a sony which is simular to a VSX850s pioneer it went for $599 and I got it for $389 shipped. Its ok its not the best out there but for now it does the job great. Eventually i want to upgrade to a Denon 1802 , HK AVR 320 or 310 or an Outlaw for not much more in price. I wish i did more homework but the sony and pioneers too are loaded with options for the price. I have onscreen display tons of inputs and outputs etc so i cant complain. This board is great for learning and progressing and theres tons of smart people to help you.. Good luck with your setup.. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page Sony STR-DE975 HT Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects
John0392
Hey Daryl I noticed you had the quints for rears - How does it sound with the SB3s ? I'm in the stage of replacing my quints for SB3 front, 1.1 rears and KSC C1 center.
Hipnotic_Tranz
I have a Pioneer D509s. Got it for $205 brand new from ebay and I like it. Though it is my first Give me a break, though. How many 16 year olds do you know that have an HT system of their own? (that they bought, not mommy and daddy) You got a steal on that one of yours. I'm using the quintets + KSC-C1 center. Still gotta buy the sub but that'll be after about a month. Takes that long to save up with my **** job--$6.25/hr doesn't cut it This message has been edited by Hipnotic_Tranz on 02-07-2002 at 04:40 PM

HTADDICT
I also started out pioneer, but finally decided to go sony, they make more and I like everything to match. It retailed around 7 to 800.00, I bought it the same year they came out with an ac-3 receiver and this was the next step under, just pro logic. Running a sony ES now with Klipsch references on the round and I'm satisfied. Sony makes some great stuff I've been running all sony now for quite a long time and haven't had any problems, But I'm sad to say that every pioneer component I bought broke down in the first year, (receiver,ld,and cd changer) hope you have better luck than me. QUiKSR20
Hey john Late reply. Sorry as for your question. Im no audio file but for me i think the quintets do a fine job on rears. maybe not as good as ss1's but i couldnt afford those. I learn more everyday but for now there doing just fine. I dont think they will disapoint you. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page Sony STR-DE975 HT Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects
