Chicago_Pete
About a year or two ago Allan S. hooked me up with a seller for an SPU GT. I believe the guys name was Juki? Great prices. Anyone know if he is still selling these carts?
nu2toobs
Yes, he's still on eBay, and still sells spu's.
Chicago_Pete
Not feeling the love. The $450 price tag is a thing of the past?
Allan Songer
About a year or two ago Allan S. hooked me up with a seller for an SPU GT.I believe the guys name was Juki? Great prices. Anyone know if he is still selling these carts? Ortofon hasn't made the "GT" model for over 20 years--it's the model with the transformer in the headshell. Any of the current production SPUs will need a stand alone step up transformer or a phono preamp suitable for LOMC cartridges. Mr. Juki still has the best prices on SPU cartridges. Just send him an email and give him the EXACT model you're looking for and he'll get back to you with the price. I haven't bought one from him in a couple of years, but I don't think the prices have skyrocketed.
Chicago_Pete
Thanks, I found the paperwork on my last one, it was an Ortofon SPU Classic GM.
garymd
I bought mine from him about 2 years ago (thanks to Allan) and his price was about $300 below retail. I don't know if that's still the case but I was able to sell it for what I paid and I probably could have charged more.
