colterphoto1
I was looking up something today and ran across this snippet from the Penn State University AES. Did you guys know that Klipsch supports education in the audio arts and sciences by attending meetings like this? Jim Garrett, Director of Product Planning Kerry Geist, VP of Acoustical Engineering Klipschwww.klipsch.com Wednesday, April 9, 2008 Applied Science Building Jim Garrett and Kerry Geist of Klipsch Audio Technologies presented a very interesting and extremely well received talk on Klipsch's corporate background, loudspeaker design principles, and some special insight into Klipsch's new Palladium series loudspeakers. Founded in 1946 by Paul Klipsch, the company has earned a distinctive reputation for quality and efficiency with their characteristic horn-loaded designs. The advantages of using horns, including increased directionality and better acoustic coupling for improved efficiency, were discussed. The talk also focused on the new upcoming Palladium series loudspeakers, and some driver samples were passed around. Issues such as diaphram movement, port optimization, magnet structure, and phasing plug were described. The meeting concluded with some generous give-aways, including a pair of Klipsch Custom-3 earphones.
BLSamuel
I did not know that but it sounds like a good idea. Helps spread the Klipsch story and aid in recruitment if looking for a few good engineers. Get 'em hooked in college, they'll be customers for life.

DrWho
Klipsch gave a presentation at UIUC too.....I believe it was in 2007 with Rich Fields. Anytime you can get an industry professional to talk is always a blast. I actually just learned that Shure hosts the Chicago chapter of the AES [] I'm gonna have to renew my membership.
