RockOn4Klipsch
I've got a SVS Pb13 Ultra and I need a longer power cord than the one supplied, is there anything I should know before replacing it with something longer?
CECAA850
Just make sure it is at least the same guage or larger (smaller guage #) and you'll be fine.
alkemyst
I couldn't find how many amps your unit draws.... for reference: 16 Gauge Cords Any 16 gauge cord between 0 and 100 feet long will adequately handle tool loads up to 10 amps. 14 Gauge Cords Any 14 gauge cord between 0 and 50 feet long will adequately handle loads between 10 and 15 amps. 12 Gauge Cords If your tool load is between 10 and 15 amps and the length of the cord is 50 to 100 feet, you need a 12 gauge cord to safely power any tool. IMHO always go bigger/lower gauge.
Guest " "
That subwoofer has a BASH 750 watt plate amp which only draws 6.3 amps at max power. You don't need to go crazy on the size of the power cord.
thecutter
Sorry to hi jack your thread. I have a RT-12d and was considering the SVS ultra as an additional sub. How do you like it?
RockOn4Klipsch
Thanks for the input guys, I figured the gauge would be the most importantjust didn't know if there was something speacial i needed to know. Sorry to hi jack your thread. I have a RT-12d and was considering the SVS ultra as an additional sub. How do you like it? The SVS Ultra IMO is a better sub then most. It's a very smooth sub the has serious output down low. I say smooth as it doesn't have the punchy sound the klipsch subs have, THE ultra is great for HT and music but if you're use to that punchy bass in music you may feel the SVS doesn't perform as you want it to. Once I got it dialed in and got it out of the corner it's been phenomenal for both. I like the smooth bass it gives to blues rock and classic rock.
