Thank-You for your input with my original post(Need Help With Entire System).I learned alot for a beginner.Unfortunately my taste is bigger than my $6,000 can budget.I was going for the Klipsch Reference.

Front,rf-3

Rear,rb-3

Center,rc-3

PW-2200

Denon,3802

Now i am looking at the Synergy.

Front,sf-2,Tower

Rear,sb-2

rc-3..?

KSW-15 or PW-2200...?

Denon,3802

I would like to keep the Denon 3802.My questions are:

How big a diff.between ref.& synergy?

Should i upgrade my center to rc-3?

Also which sub do i go to?

There's about $700.00 diff. This would keep me within my budget.

Thanking you again.Samcat

I would not go with the RC-3 with the Synergy set-up.

I would opt for the Paradigm sub. It is a better sub than the KSW-15.

The only thing else I would say is that even if I had to hold out a little longer I would get the Reference line. You will be happier in the long run.

One way to save some money at first is to not get the center and use phantom mode for center.

Ditto. I'm surprised that when someone mentions purchasing a receiver that hardly anyone ever mentions the Outlaw. IMO, it's a fantastic buy.

Are you paying list for the 3802?

I got my 3801 a year ago and and paid $800 for it.Do a price search,mysimon.com and such.

It was $1200 new. Then go with the Reference.Budget or not,get what you want anyway you can or you will be upgrading and paying more later on.

I have 3 Denon recievers and have never had any trouble with them,AVR-2000,2800&3801.

The Outlaw I have heard is nice, but I have Denon and hope to up that to Aragon.

yes you should.

ask them to drop the price of the receiver by at least 50-100 bucks, and to lower the price of the speakers as well. You are buying the speakers at the same time, and the markup on speakers is huge.

If you need cable, that's another thing that adds to your bargaining power, markup is huge on that too.

email me if you need more info on that kind of stuff.

samcat,

You could go with the reference speakers and Denon 3801 and hold off on a sub for now. I have made the mistake of going for the lower line of Klipsch in the past (older Synergy series). I can't say they were not good, in fact, compared to most speakers on the market, they are excellent, but they just were not the Reference series. The Reference series has a refined quality that is impossible to find at anywhere close to their price range.

I find that the RF-3's are very satisfying for music and movies without a sub. Granted, movies do sound better with the sub, but I think if you are wanting an excellent system from the start and you need to save a little $$, go with the full Reference line minus the sub. That of course is mt 2 cents.

------------------

RF-3's : mains

RC-3 : center

RS-3's : surrounds

KSW-12: subwoofer

Receiver: Denon 2801

DVD: Panasonic DVD-A120

CD: Yamaha CDC-765

Cables: Tributaries

Sat Receiver: Hughes Direct-TV DD5.1

-------------------------

Family room:

RB-5's (Mahogony)

Receiver: Denon AVR-2000 (2ch.)

Amp: Onkyo M-5000 (2ch.)

CD Player: Yamaha
