Professor Thump
Winchester, Maybe you can answer this... As the ammo shortage continues I have been attempting to purchase materials for reloading my hand guns. I started making the list for 9 mm and .38's... Brass - Check... always save it Primers - Check... Got lucky enough to get some of the Russian Primers Bullets - My buddy Andy has some 38's, need 9mm Powder - Bought 1 lB of American Select, HE2400 was out of stock by the time Widemers processed the order 2 weeks later. Bullets I can melt if I need to, but Powder seems to be my weakest point. I used to shoot a lot of trap 25 years ago and still have some left over WSL. So I started thinking...Has anyone ever used Winchester Super Light (WSL) for .38 cal or 9 mm reloads? Can I use it like Red Dot? It is not in the books anymore for load recommendations. winchester21
That is something for a powder expert. lots of the red dot type shotgun powders provided nice cheap shooting for 38 practice rounds. i dont have any data or knowledge for that one. Do some checking and get 2nd opinions. I always used the medium or bulk powder with hard lead- linotype with gas checks which could be loaded to near magnum velocity without bad leading issues. now - sadly - we do not have that luxury. this whole shoratge smells to me. I always had good luck wirh raineer bullets from dillion precision for medium cheap fodder. get yourdelf a dillon catalouge- free- the models aint half bad either.
