Blvdre
First Elvin, now Rashied. They will be missed. Never got a chance to see Rashied, but saw Elvin a couple of times. What a class act. After the third encore, the group ran out of material, so Elvin started handing out drum sticks to the crowd, humbled by the overwhelming response. What a sweetheart. Wish I had gotten the chamce to see Rashied.
JL Sargent
The following quote is from Michaels link. Really sums up Rashied. Cuthbert Simpkins MDat 8-14-2009 Thewords that immediately come to mind when I think of Rashied are kindand generous. He strongly believed in maintaining the integrity of themusic and in its ability to cleanse and heal those who would listen. Heunderstood the power of music to shape our attitudes toward life. Hisdesire to be a force for good prevented him from playing music thatstirred destructive impulses in the listener in exchange for financialreward. Instead, he provided the rhythms that freed the spirit to loveand live in a space of true contentment. I will miss him dearly.
