Denon has stopped with DVD players and is producing only BR now. The sound is much better than the DVD players. Lossless bitrate from the analoge output.. John, I have seen them on eBay for $600 brand new, so I suspect they can be had for less if you shop arround. Marantz is also making a BlueRay player now. Is this player already seen in the USA.? wim Wim, I own a 400 disc CD player and a 300 disk DVD player, so I am waiting on a similar BlueRay player to come out prior to buying an expensive unit. I don't need a 5.1 system anymore! haha Especially the sound stage is better. And don't forget the dynamic. I have to set the sharpness of the LCD tv on 0. (see my post about settings) Sometimes the movie likes to perform in 3D. So my advice is go for it!. p.s.
