Tim Currie
Hi, looking at getting one or the other. Wondering what you all think of the two and if the KLF-20's are worth twice the price of the KG5.5's? It seems the main difference is the 3-way design VS. the 2-way, and 2 DB of efficiency. I think I can get the KG 5.5's for about $200 and the KLF's about double that. Will use for both music and home theater. Thanks for any help, its hard to find much info on these two models. wuzzzer
They're both priced nicely. Better midrange clarity with the KLF due to its 3-way design with a horn midrange. Bass output is probably somewhat identical, although the KLF-20 woofers are crossed over much lower than the KG 5.5s so the KLF's woofers don't have as broad of a frequency range to have to reproduce (typically a good thing). Montigue231
Tim, if you can buy a set of klf 20's for $400 bucks thats a great deal for some awesome speakers.. Ive had several upon several klipsch speakers incuding the kg 5.5's. I take the legend 3 way over most all other models....
RockOn4Klipsch
yeah let me know where you can pick up the klf 20's for 400 bucks.... I'd hop on those petty quick if they're not already taken. I've also read that both series of speakers have many cabinet issues so make sure to inspect them well. Fotog
KLF-20's are wonderful speakers. The rear panel can separate from the cabinet wood (mine at the top corner), however it is an easy glue fix. Of course when you play them at reasonable sound levels, the separation/vibration is a non-issue. It does kind of freak you out the first time you hear it. Oh sh!t did I just blow a speaker? Naw, just a little cabinet rattle. Some Gorilla glue and it's back to Rockin'... KLF-20's Rock.
