Tim Currie
Hi guys. To my understanding, the KLF speakers do not have any internal damping on the cabinets. Should I add some? If so what kind? And how exactly will this change the sound? ( I think they sound excellent stock!) Thanks Tim
jamesV
( I think they sound excellent stock!) Then why change anything? James
Tim Currie
Heh, well yeah. I was just thinking if it is a simple thing to do and if it would make a real noticeable difference then I could do it. Seems like all good speakers are "supposed" to have some damping material on the inside of the cabinets. I just noticed (looking in through the port) on my KLF's that there was none (I could see). jamesV
I understand what you are talking about. I don't have KLF's but you might want to open them and see if they do or don't. You can add some if they don't and I'm sure it will change the sound but if they were designed without any there is a good reason why. You never know, you might like them better with a little damping material. Try it out and see what happens and do report what you find out, it should be interesting. Dylanl
no I don't see how the material would hurt as long as it would not take up to much internal volume. But then again, I doubt you would hear a difference unless there are resonating waves inside the cabinet. So I would agree with the above post of "no".
