crusher9008
Ok so I just got 2 F3's with a C2 and a pair of S1's and a 10 inch sub.... My question is this I have read that people use an external amp to power the F3's... is this what I need to do?.. Or is my Yamaha 465 reciever enough to power all this? I need to know as soon as possible cuz I will be picking a amp up on my way home today if i need to....and if you could please give a little explination of how an amp works (how its run). As I have never used an amp before. Thanks so much from everyone this site is great and I am going to be a Klipsch fan for life

fastlane
Your yamaha may be enough. Give it a try. One thing to check: does the Yamaha have preamp out connections on back? If not, you cannot use a separate amp.
peshewah
I agree to run your Yamaha for a while. But when you get the upgrade bug an amp would be the way to go.

psg
Nah, get the amp & be done with it. Hmmm... Presumably several hundred dollars on an amp ($400 ?) to run $500 speakers... I'd rather have $1000 speakers drivin on the receiver.
