rdrunner23
I have two RF-3 II mains and an RC-3 Center (plus a KSW-12 sub which I'll upgrade at some point). I need two surrounds to be used for 90% TV/HT. Any music is typically live concert videos. The area I'm installing them is height limited (above a window) so I need to stick with the surrounds that are shaped like the RS-10. The room is around 15 x 20. Should I stick with the RS-10 or will the lower models like the Synergy series do just as well? I don't know how much sound the surrounds end up playing and if the Synergy's will match close enough to the other speakers. Thanks, -Rob
wuzzzer
Since you have Reference fronts and can fit Reference surrounds that's what I'd recommend. That being said, it isn't quite as critical to match surrounds to fronts so if you find a good deal on Synergy speakers they'll work fine. RS-25s or any from the RS-3 series will have higher output and more full sound than RS-10s.
smokarz
i am running a pair of RS42s with my RF3 fronts, and they sound really nice. they're also very affordable. i too was thinking about the synergy, until i score a great deal on the RS42s, brand new for somethig like $260. rdrunner23
The RS42 would be a very tight fit but it might work. The RS3 or 25 would be a better fit, I was not aware of those. I imagine the 42 would be much fuller with 2 woofers. Is it better to go sealed or ported or does it matter?
rdrunner23
Oh, and where do you get a deal like that on the RS-42? Everwhere I look their more like $200 each.
