Rudy81
I posted a similar question in the sub are, but it doesn't get much action....so, here goes. Who uses two dissimilar subs at the same time in their HT or listening room? I have an SVS 20-39 pc+ and my new RSW-15. I am curious to find out the pros and cons of using both subs at the same time since I have found different strengths to each. The RSW is very nice above 25 or 30Hz, but drops off rapidly below that. The SVS is tremendous at sub 25Hz material, particularly LFE material. I currently have them set up to operate independantly depending on what I am listening to. But, am wondering how it would sound with both running at the same time. I'm not home right now, so can't just run and try it. Figured I'd get some of your knowledge before attempting the experiment. Moderators Youthman Posted November 14, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 14, 2009 I have read that running two subs can be a challenge to setup properly. Sometimes they cancel each other out. Just curious, are you using a test CD with frequency sweeps since you mention specific frequencies. Thanks
Rudy81
I have various test cd, and blu ray disks, but the best method so far is to run the REW (Room EQ Wizard) software along with my Behringer ECM8000 mic. No guessing at the readings there, they are graphically presented. All kinds of interpretation available with the software and it works for the full frequency range of a speaker. Dylanl
I run 2 SVS subs in my home theater in parallel form a behringer amp. I also only set up with Rat shack meter.
Rich_Guy
I have never ran two subs myself, I have heard some say two subs is much better and I have heard others say it is difficult to set up. In your case I think using the two subs together may be good for home theater but I am not sure if using both would be good for music. But I think you should definitely try it to see for yourself.
