Bmaga123
Hello, My name is Brian and I am new to the forums. I am currently in the process of building a small room in my house for Movies and Gaming. The room is only 11X10 and so far I am putting in 4 Berkline 45004 Theater Chairs and a 58" Plasma on a stand. I have been doing allot of research on Klipsch speakers and decided these are the speakers for me but I am curious of which ones to get. For a smaller room I think it would be bad to go to big and I am thinking of running either 2.0 or 2.1 setup running two really good speakers up front should be plenty for a smaller room like mine. I am wondering if the RF-52's will be powerfull enough for this room and can I run them without Sub or would you run with Sub to get a good movie and gaming experience? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
jamesV
Welcome to the forum.... Do yourself a favor and never purchase Klipsch speakers. Once you get them into your home you will need more, even if you really don't, they seem to multiply and start to take over...... [] How much are you looking to spend for speakers? Do you have a receiver to run your setup already? A sub will always enhance your movie and gaming experience. How much are you looking to spend on the sub? There are a few on-line subwoofer companies that members here like. AV123 Elemental Designs Epik Subwoofers James
Coytee
they seem to multiply and start to take over...... Those little tramps! I've got to admit though, I like the offspring. As for the original question... wow... that might be a tough room. do you currently have open walls where you can run wiring? I'm thiking on maybe some of the in walls??? That would keep less 'stuff' in the room however, because of their imobility, in wall speakers are not known to be little tramps and might not multiply like those other mobile hussies can. gotta pick your priorities [:^)]
Rickyjay
The RF-52s will be plenty for a room that size as long as they will fit! Also, if it is possible, you should definitely try to add a center speaker to your 2.1 system for movie watching because 70+% of the vocals come out of the center. The RC-52 is what matches the RF-52s. As for the subwoofer, the RF-52s do produce bass but they won't make the walls shake when you are watching a movie. It all depends on what you like, but I would definitely recommend purchasing a subwoofer.
Bmaga123
Thanks for all the advice, I am currently making a deal to get a new Denon AVR2310CI which produces plenty of power for the setup I am looking to get. I think I will take your advice on a center speaker. I am looking to spend around 1,500 for the speakers and sub. Do I get a Klipsch sub or do you guys recommend something different? Thank you
Bmaga123
Also is this a good solution to mounting a center speaker http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=87867 and if not where can I find one? What is the best speaker wire to get for a setup like mine which will now become 3.1? Thanks

Thank you Matching the subwoofer is not is important. You can pretty much get any brand of subwoofer and it wouldn't make a very large difference. Personally, I have a Klipsch sub-12 and I love it but you can also get away with any other brand. Also, for such a small room, you could probably easily get away with a 10 inch subwoofer instead of a 12 inch.

Thanks I am not sure if that will work as it is for flat panel speakers but I am not sure, I have never mounted a center speaker. Mine just sits on top of my TV. As for the speaker wire, pretty much any 12 gauge speaker wire should work perfectly fine.

Rickyjay
If those are too expensive, the WF-34 system should work just fine for you too.
Bmaga123
Oh wow the WF-34 and 35 would be perfect for my room your are all right. Only thing that bothers me is they do not come in all black which wont go with my all black theme very well but dang the size of these speakers are perfect and the reviews show they make great sound. Thanks for the advice :-)
Bmaga123
I think I will go with a 3.1 setup using 2 RF-52's and a RC-52 Center along with a RW-10d Sub with the Denon AVR 2310CI. Do you guys think this is a solid setup and will sound good with movies and games in my 10X11 room? Also is the receiver I am getting powerful enough to handle the sub? Thanks

Thanks That would be a great system and it would sound awesome with movies and music. That receiver will definitely be powerful enough for the speakers. You don't need to worry about it powering the sub because that sub has its own internal amp.
laager
...can I run them without Sub or would you run with Sub to get a good movie and gaming experience? To be honest, a movie experience without a sub is really poor compared to one with a sub. One can live without the surrounds for most films but no sub = no fun.
