hey guys. i am buying a ht setup very soon. actually i have already ordered my rf-83's, rc-64 and 2 of the thx ultra 2 subs (i work for a klipsch dealer) and i was all exited about getting them, until just today i realized i could get the whole thx ultra 2 setup for about the same price. i have heard half of the thx system (front L+R+subs) and i really liked it. the only other thing to compare to the 83's and 64 to are the rf-82's and rc-52 wich i have heard, and liked also. now i know that the RF setup is way better for music, but in all of your opinions, wich would you take? and wich do u feel is better for prob 70 percent movies and 30 percent music? thanks

I personally love my RF-83's, especially for movies. In my particular room, they sound better for HT than they do for 2ch listening but a lot of that has to do with me not having any room treatments and lots of hard surfaces. I have not had the privelege of listening to the THX Ultra II's though.

thanks for the response.......thats the problem is that not may people have heard the system. i have heard the left and right front speakers and the 2 subwoofers, and it was really good. im def getting the subs no matter what, i love them. but as for the rest im not sure. what do you have paired up with your rf-83's? i dunno i just picture the 83's as being very good music speakers (wich they are) but im kinda skeptical as for how they will be for movies. plus the ultra 2 system is what $13 grand thats gotta mean something

As shown in my signature and in my build thread, I have RF-83's with the RC-64 and RB-35's driven by a Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver. Can't wait to get the Emotiva XPA-3 to drive the front three speakers.
